The new Garage

I'm tired of working in my tiny 2 car garage so I'm finally building a big (30'x60') shop to work in.
Awesome work so far. Totally jealous. I am trying not to be, but you made it so hard...

The garage doors are finally installed! They look great! Thankfully they got the color matched good enough that I won't need to paint them.

I can finally lock my garage! I put tools in there and left my RV unlocked just because I could tonight.

The first load of drywall and insulation.

Can anyone explain to me why I can buy 4x12x5/8 drywall for around $5 a sheet at Lowes but 1/2" would be double that... In fact those are the cheapest drywall sheets they sell at Lowes by a long shot...

OK, so here's the deal. It's apparently on clearance with Lowe's.

That's the price, but they have the "contractors pack" price if you buy at least 15 panels. That is $5 something and my veterans discount gets me another 10% off which ended up being $5.15 a panel. The sale says it's good until 6/4 so I guess I need to go get the rest of my drywall soon.

Must be only at your store. When I click the link, it’s $22 each. $5 per sheet is a great deal.

We got quite a bit done yesterday even though it really doesn't look like it...

All the plumbing is finished up to the point that we can install drywall. Hose bibs and hose reels were installed on the front and back of the garage and we got insulation and drywall up on the front wall.

We got one opener hung, but it still needs to be wired up the rest of the way. I'm hoping to have both openers installed and functional by the end of the weekend and maybe have the whole back wall insulated and drywalled as well.

Some friends showed up and I ended up getting a bit more done than I thought I was. The back wall is fully insulated and drywalled, both garage door openers are hooked up and fully programmed and all the pre-drywall wiring is done along with some of the insulation. It was a very productive weekend.

I'm going to pick up the rest of the drywall and insulation tomorrow along with some other odds and ends. I also talked to my friend about getting the back driveway done. It's all coming together pretty quickly.
