The wood wool is fire retardant and generally you put a row of it around the top of the wall by the ceiling.

I'm tired of working in my tiny 2 car garage so I'm finally building a big (30'x60') shop to work in.
This is what they did at my work. It's an "open office" setup (no individual offices/cubes, just desks).
Well, it's been a long time but we're finally working on the shop again. We moved a bunch of stuff out so we could finish up the drywall and get it painted finally.
Today was all about adding more mud where it was needed and pulling down a bunch of the lights so we could paint. Not a ton of progress, but it felt good to get something done.
We're planning on doing it in two stages, we'll get one side painted, reinstall the lights for that side and move everything over then do the other side. We need to add some more mud in a few places, do a bunch of sanding, pull the ceiling fans down and then we'll be ready to paint. Hopefully by the end of next weekend half the garage is painted and we're prepping the other side.

We spent all day yesterday sanding and prepping for paint today so we could start first thing. We did 2 coats of primer (about 17 gallons) and a top coat of Swiss Coffee (10 gallons of white).

We had friends come help us both days otherwise we wouldn't have been able to get this much done.
Next we'll be reinstalling the lights and outlets, installing the cove moulding along the bottom then we'll move everything over to the side that's painted and start prepping the remainder. The part that still needs painted is about half of what we painted this weekend, so it shouldn't be as bad.

After getting the one side painted, we reinstalled all the electrical outlets, installed the vinyl baseboards and ran the 3rd string of lights. Once that was done we moved everything that was still in the shop over to the completed side:
On Saturday we did a bit more drywall work and got everything prepped for painting on Sunday. 10 more gallons of primer and about 7 gallons of top coat and we were done:
It's so surprising how much brighter it seems in the shop now with the white paint. I was so excited about it we went out and reinstalled the lights so I could have the whole garage lit up:
I'm very pleased with how it came out, but we still have quite a bit of work to do. We need to do some touch up work with the paint, make a new attic hatch (the old one got stuck and broke), install the baseboards on the other side, reinstall the garage door openers, paint the door trim, finish the trim on the inside of the bathroom door, etc. etc...
Hopefully I can get some vehicles back in there next weekend. I've got tons of garage space, and all my stuff is parked outside.

Looks like there's minimal shading from having good number of lights in there. Should be good!

Yes, there's very few shadows with all the lights.
We've been chipping away at the to do list every night after work. Paint is touched up, lights and fans installed, outlet covers etc. It's looking pretty good!

No, it's something I picked up off of craigslist. It was originally from cartowdolly.com.

It's the first other than mine which someone built, that doesn't have a swivel for the front tires.
When turning one tire wants to roll forward and the other backward.
Do you notice that?
I have only used it once with my Hyundai Accent. When they don't swivel (pretty common actually from what I've seen) you have to leave the steering wheel unlocked.

Oh I do leave the steering unlocked, it's still not going to prevent the movement, just the twist. When you turn the wheel on the inside is ahead.
We spent a bunch of time finishing up little things in the garage. All the interior trim is painted now, the bathroom door trim is finished and painted, all the cover plates are installed and we finished up the wiring in the attic (added a fire/CO detector).
We need to install the baseboards on the East side of the garage and in the bathroom still, also I'm putting 2" angle aluminum on the corners of the bathroom to protect them (you can see a strip just sitting there). The top of the bathroom needs to be tiled (cheapo stick on tiles) because we plan on using that for storage, which is why it was built with 2x6" studs.
I'm working on getting someone out to shoot in the insulation, then it will need a thorough cleaning and I'll be ready to move everything back in.
We'll probably wait until this pandemic plays out before we make any big purchases (cabinets and 2 post lifts), but I'm looking forward to being able to use the shop again.
