I'm tired of working in my tiny 2 car garage so I'm finally building a big (30'x60') shop to work in.
I'm not sure "tower" is the correct word.
We got the uprights bolted down today. 12 3/4"x6" holes into the fiber reinforced concrete, what fun!
I still need to shim it, then we can get the crossover bar installed and start putting everything else together. I'm not sure I'll be done with it this weekend, but I'm hopeful.

Well, it's mostly done. We got it all shimmed up, hooked up all the hydraulics and cables and ran the wiring.
I still need to do some work on the wiring, but it's functional! We'll finish it up tomorrow.

We finished up the wiring, cleaned up a bit and put everything back in the shop. Still plenty of room to work on the lift!

We had a nice fire outside the shop last night and admired our hard work while we had a few beers.

Thanks! We've been talking about building it for over a decade so it's awesome to see it coming together.
We did some more adjustments and fiddling with the lift tonight (including dumping about 1/2 gallon of hydraulic fluid while moving a fitting around) and decided we needed to test it out on the reason we bought the 10K lift instead of the 8K lift.
Fat pigs can fly! We're so stoked about using the new lift, it's one of the main reasons we built the garage (especially the 16' ceiling).

We got some time to work in/on the garage this week. I did an oil change on my daily driver:
We're really loving the lift so far. I've found 2 A/N fittings that were rubbing (one on the steering, one on the fuel) and almost worn through that I replaced on the Silverado (and adjusted so it wouldn't happen again). It's just such a different view looking at it when it's on the lift, so much easier to see problems and fix them when they're at eye level.
Also, the S-10 has a low tire, so we finally ran the air lines from where we relocated the air compressor (in the old garage) to the new shop. I think this pretty much completes the "to do list" for the shop, 2 years in the making!

Well, that took a while to put together. This toolbox is beef, very happy with the build quality so far. It weighs in at over 1 ton empty!

Looks nice. I would overload it so bad that I couldn't move it.
Each wheel is rated for over 1000 lbs with spring suspension so I'm not sure about that. Single rail drawers are rated for 250lbs dual are 500. It's a beast.
When I saw the picture on fb I wondered how Amber was going to reach up high.
I mean "I" couldn't move it.
