hey guys my name is frank i live in ny and im building a 76 k5 i got the truck all apart and am working on the body and getting it back together and running asap so any advice or technical help would be appreciated. i will post some pics as soon as i get them. :k5:

welcome. better ask some specific questions though because asking for technical advice on here is like trying to get a drink from niagra falls. you'll get way more than anyone can handle. :haha:

good luck with the build.

ok well then heres one is there anybody that makes stainless steel pre bent fuel lines i got the stainless pre bent 8 piece brake lines from lmc truck:k5:

also im doing a tranie swap from a th350 to a 700r4 i want the overdrive because of the gas prices the 700r4 came from an 88 burb :burb: i also took the transfer case with it is there anything i should know besides bolting it in

i did that swap about 10 years ago on my friend's truck. length is similar, iirc. bellhousing bolts up to engine fine. we moved the crossmember about 2" back, iirc. there might be a mount adapter or something now. the linkage took a while to adjust, but neither of us had done it much before. same speedo drive gear, but different driven gear. those are the only things i can recall at the moment that make it anything but a straight bolt-in swap.

Welcome, my name is Frank also:D, glad to help with any truck needs. You have picked the perfect site for k5 blazers. Lets see those pics

Frank!!! slow down!!! No rush! :haha:

Punctuations are your friend. Welcome to the site. You might have to drill some holes on the frame to move the trans cross member back a few inches to support the extra length of the 700. Your drive shafts may have to change as well, or you might need a slip yolk eliminator. A few quick pics of what you got and Im sure some expert here will help you out!

i got the cross member from the suburban that i got the tranie from and i got a drive shaft from eBay off of a blazer that had a 700r4 in it :k5:

The most important thing with a 700R-4 is getting the TV cable adjusted correctly. Badly adjusted TV cable will eat a 700R-4 in days...

Welcome to CK5.

throttle valve cable, hooks from the throttle to the valve body on the tranny.

often miscalled the kickdown cable when really it is not. It adjusts pressures in the tranny based on how much gas your giving the engine. Without this cable hooked up, there really is no way for the tranny to tell what the engine is doing and you will smoke the tranny in a couple hours if not a day or two.

ill be starting a build thread over the weekend i hope if the girlfriend stays off my back i just need a few more picks to get it started
