SO after a 3 week ordeal to get the project Blazer home. It's finally here. :D

So far I am happy with what I see. It has more rust than anticipated, but the parts that I will be useing seem to be pretty clean.

It's a 73 that has no motor,trans,t-case or drivelines. I bought it basically for the body, vin and frame. I already sold the top and doors and plan to sell the wheels and other misc. parts to recoup the price of the vehicle(which wasn't much)

Here are a few pics I took yesterday on the way home.

Now the fun part of ripping it apart and getting rid of all the unnecesary stuff begins. I anticipate a LONG build but hopefully a nicely built, extremely capable rig come out of it.

This is my ultimate goal. Obviously not as much COOL factor as this one since mine is a second gen, but a simple build with good offroad capabilties!!

sorry to steal your thunder...

Might be a stupid question, but since I am a newbie- Who's truck is that?! I need to see more!

There are a few more pics in the Blazer-Bash picture post in the Blazer-Bash forum. I tried to find more detailed pics but couldn't.:(

What in the blue tar are those seat mounts? Are they swivel?

Interesting :smirk:
:D Yup, I think they are. Although I haven't been able to release it to make it swivel. I bet I can get some GOOD money for those when I sell them!:p:

I never noticed the back seats in that K5. Someone is in serious need of a family cage.

When the truck was in the mag, the back seats weren't in it. But out at Blazer-Bash they were there. I thought the same thing when I saw it. Mine will definatly have a family cage.:D

that is very similar to how I want to setup my new s10 but no narrowing. Chop the full top off and just put some canvas over the bars to stop the mud from raining on me. Bars with sheet instead of doors. Just a nice simple leaf suspension(for now).

That's what i am going for with mine. A simple and CLEAN build. I'll probably still run the stock drivetrain with the spring suspension and 1 ton axles. Nothing elaborate but it'll still work good.

I sure do enjoy the excitment of a new build up project ! CONGRATULATIONS on your new ride !!!! That 1rst GEN. is a fantastic model rig for your build up - that thing just gives me serious wood ........Once more congrat's !
