I have a set of fiber faced vise jaw caps made by Wilton.

I use these a fair bit, they grip better than rubber and are somewhat "self healing" Recently the red fiber pieces popped off the aluminum caps. No biggie, I'll glue them back. Decided to use epoxy. (Cleaned the residue off of the caps, sanded the back of the fiber pieces) Appeared to do the job until I actually used them, then one of them came loose again.
Clearly epoxy wasn't the right answer. I have on hand contact cement, DAP Weldwood brand and CA glue, both the standard "superglue" type and the 2 part type with the spray activator. Either one of those better than the other? Is there some third option I should be using?
TIA
