Hey im a new user and i need some help. I recently bought the truck of my dreams an 82 K5 blazer. When i got it it ran and drove but one day i was backing out of the drive way and just like that it died. No warning or nothing. I thought since its carburated maybe i just took off too soon but as i messed with it i realized i had no spark. I've changed the pickup coil and ignition coil as well as the HEI control module and nothing is working. Can someone give me a hand?

Check the fusible links. See if you have power at the junction block on the firewall. Also check if you have power on the fuse panel. You probably blew a something that feeds power the distributor

Does it crank? I'm assuming so, as you have mentioned that you think it is a spark issue. You can pull the distributor cap off and try to spin the rotor by hand. Make sure that the drive gear didn't shear all of the teeth off.

Funny story too...

If you just bought this thing, are there any random switches added that you don't know what they are for? When I got my truck, there was a kill switch wired in, my buddy was flipping stuff trying to figured out what worked and what didn't. Well he flipped the kill switch a few times while the truck was key on, engine off, and he didn't see any thing happen. He left it in the off position. Later, when we tried to start it up, nothing. Took us a few hours to figure out it was that damn switch.

I had to remove the distributor to get the pickup coil off and it was all fine and in tact
And there arent any extras inside except a plow control
