i think i have come to find the ultimate setup for sound system.
1st i installed 2 10" subs w/ 750watt amp.
then i changed out my 6x9s to be pyle 3way 6x9s then up front put in 2 pioneer 3 1/2 inch cone speakers, then i put ina sony xplod radio system that has cd/md player on it. and i can run my mp3 player through the radio frequency. its a 4x52 watt system.
i think it sounds sweet. and i know i could have gone w/ bigger subs etc, but this still sounds good. i just htought i would let people know what i did to make my blazer sound good.
also i have new rear panels, they are made from mdf board and also the rear is herculined w/ no carpet.

Thanks for the info.....I am about to install two 10" subs in my own K5, so it nice to hear that they sound good.

Any problems hearing the stereo with the top off at highway speeds? I'm curious about that too.....

How much did all this cost you, material only? I am looking ot do an upgrade very shortly and plan to run 2 10" subs, and an amp, not sure what to do about wattage, prolly gonna change current speakers too! The difference is, I am gonna have the pro's do it for me!

My blazer has
Clarion cd player 45x4
(2) 12" Pioneer subs in a bandpass box
(2) 8" Rockford Fosgate subs in truck boxes with tweeters
(4) 1" Kenwood tweeters
(2) 4" kenwood midrange speakers
(2) 6x9" Kenwood 3 way speakers
I have 600 watts going to the 12s, 300 watts to the 8s, 200 watts to the 6x9s and tweeters, and the deck is powering the 4s.
You can clearly hear the music from a block away. You cant turn it all the way up when your in in and the windows up, but it sounds awsome!
I put it together for 600 bucks. I have a friend that work at a audio store and gave me a great deal.

That sounds like a good idea with the 8s. The 8s give it a good mid range bass. they fill in the gaps from the 12s and the 6x9s. If you add them you will really like it. They just bring out so much more of the music than you would think. You can pick up the rockford fosgate truck boxes with 8s and horn tweeters for 150 bucks. Cant beat the price considiering the sell the 8s for 90 buck on the buy 1 get 1 free sale.
