The Un-Boring DD Volvo Wagon

Scrapped. Wrong hub bore size (smaller than what my car takes). Could've had them bored... Could've bought adapters... Could've made them work...

Lost interest cause it was hard to find the time to get more done. Had more important things to do. A couple of the wheels were kinda bent anyways. Plus they were only 16s. I really want a set of 17s on there, aluminum or steel.

what did you use to trigger the fan on the Volvo? I have a volvo e-fan setup sitting in the garage.

I bought a switch that you stick through the rad fins at autozone.

Here's my Turbobricks thread

Post #14 has the e-fan info and part number for that switch.

ah OK, I've used one of those probes twice and on the last use it caused a leak so I'm not too fond of those....especially with a brand new radiator. I'll probably just run a Saab switch.

I was sketchy about it at first. Ran all summer without issue. Temp guage stays right where it usually does and the fan cycles on/off in traffic like it should. I have it right between the "bars" on the rad so as not to rub and secured with it's speed nut with a piece of foam to take up any vibration. Time will tell if it holds up or rubs the bars or who knows.

Yeah that's the same setup that worked on my Honda for years, on the Volvo however it sprung a leak. Within a few days I noticed the leak so if it hasn't started leaking already I'm sure you'll be fine.

Video . . .

That video really made me miss Germany and the autobahn, loved cruising that thing and making good time for a change, had a 1995 Nissan Maxima SE w/ bigger brakes, a chip, intake and exhaust mods, and 130 mph speed tires, it would do 120 on a flat stretch and man was that fun!

Ha! Love it!!! Mine had 275/60r15's on it. Saw a few barbed wire fences & pastures in its day too. It was a great car.

Thinks that make an awesome ride:

Turbo... Check
Wagon.. Check
Square body.. Check

Guess that makes it an awesome ride!

:waytogo:

Always liked this wagon. I believe he sold it though. Upgraded to a 2000s era wagon.

Had an S70R years ago, until wife #1 killed it. I had damn near the ipd catalog on it too, I still miss that damn car
