Sorry to say, but that SAS kit is for the LD 2500 and 1500s.

um what are you saying here? I do indeed have a 2500 mine being a current 2wd is of no reguard when you look at the frames side by side.

at any rate I am not using the whole kit, just the arms and axel brackets.

edit: just realized what you ment by LD

So much stuff going on with your truck! Sounds good so far!:eek1: I am definately going to keep an eye on your build! The only thing I have to add is it sounds like you need to go with a D60 frontend!

if I find one with the right gearing or in great shape for a great price in the next few days..maybe

there really is no need for it on this truck..then again I dont really NEED solid axel..or 38's..:D

I did line up another buyer for the lift and wheels:saweet:

cage off raod radious arms are actually 825.00 for the full size with brackets, they "should" have them ready to ship on this coming tuesday he said.

wfo.. I decided just to buy a dedenbar flat top for the 44, he has all parts in stock..sweeeeeeeet, this will be my 4th steering kit from trever at wfo

ballistic..they have all the other brackets and parts in stock as well.

one idea too, is I can always get a 60 when I find one, I just wont waste money on a locker for the 44 yet just in case of that. the brackets dont cost too much, besides if I build another blazer I could always put the 44 and coil set up on it or something else If I do put a 60 in the work truck.

so if the stars line up I could do this swap the weekend after next..:D

I might do some work on the bumper tonight..maybe add a tube in the middle of the skid plate like suggested. or fill in the gaps with plate.

if you know my history 4x4 would be very very bad.. it would not live long, in arizona wheeling means rocks..and most trails are not nice to a fullsize or a long wheelbase if you want to keep it dent free.i just have always wanted a nice looking truck that stays nice, a 2wd work truck has a fighting chance! the HDs have the same suspension and every thing a 4x4 has..mine just is missing a t-case and diff :)
post 129 - only 60 posts ago! :D

I came across two.. Ill be reviewing them this weekend:D I am tempted to just spend the extra money and do it the way I want the first time...

also for the licence plate.. maybe NO IFS.. ?

still no damn 60

I have one more option for one in yuma, it a drw though and the price is not right, today im going to try to find a 03 and up dodge 60 just for kicks and giggles. After doing some homework I found you can keep the factory abs with the use of those years dodge fronts. to be honest I could give a crap but the thought still counts I guess.

also spoke with advanced adapters, 218.00 for the fig 8 style t-400 to 205 adapter so for that price I wont even waste my time trying to find a cast heavy stock one:saweet: funny thing is I will butcher it to use with my spacer im having made:doah:

Im also really bummed about having the truck down while I deal with waiting on a rear shaft but I dont want to do any guessing and get one that wont work..

And if ever I loved my dad or hated him he has me sold on puting a cage in this truck..With how much I drive I think its a great idea. So this weekend I removed the headliner and spent a good 10 hours pulling the dash out to see if I can hide the cage in the pillars. Looks complicated as hell but I think I could pull it off. I would need to make custom pillar covers and have a custom headliner made. My buddy with a needle, Jimmy came by the shop gave me a quote of about 325.00 for the headliner. He said he could form it around the cage so it would be hidden but you could still see an outline..:thumb: pillars would be a fiberglass project. Also Im now thinking about putting some corbeau's in it to to pull off the whole look and funtion. I have had them in a couple trucks and love how comfy and supportive they are:thumb: :D

im starting to think I should really set up a budget or something but that might put and end to all my day dreaming and creativity..

current thoughts

Linked front, 44 or 60
38 inch xls
adapter
spacer
205
custom crossmember
bad a$$ roof rack with curves going around my spare tire in the design
intergrated and hidden cage
corabeu race seats and cam lock seat belts
redo the front bumper, with hinge forward tube thats covers part of hood..
and a retardedly over built rear bumper, I may by this to save time/headache
train/semi horn..always wanted one
cb with PA and exterior mounted loud spaker..again always wanted it:D
regear to 4.88's
long tube headers/high flow cats/ true dual exhaust
ls2 corvett intake.fast 90 throttle body and a tune..
flush mounted reverse lights in my utility top..backing up is a P.I.T.A.
maybe forced induction at somepoint, they keep poping up on craigslist!

oh and incase some of m buddies want to give me sh!t..I have been actually working away and the buggy and my other projects too:p:

other thoughts/ issues

* no idea on rear suspension yet, new leafs or air bags, 4 link with air or..
* always wanted fiberglass, but with narrow tires I dunno..ugly?
* I want to do the same skull rim stiffeners as the buggy, balancing issues???

its now 4 am and my dash is still apart! Drivers seat is on the ground, no pillars and my headliner is out too:doah: :doah: :doah: :doah: these dashes are a serious pain in the rear to remove and install!

damn I just have to stir the pot more..

option 1

d44 for 200.00 +600 knuckle and steering hard to find short input fig 8 rebuilt 205 maybe 400-600 plus custom spacer..200 and advanced adapter 218.00

so about 1200 ish plus 250 I just spent for ballistic stuff, plus the cage kit and springs..then the custom drive shafts

option 2

I found a 2001 dodge dana 60 for 400.00 needs a hub and rotor call it 700 or so..but its a drivers side drop so i could use a divorced 205 on its own crossmember with a short driveshaft to my tranny. so no adapters needed .

so 700 into the axel or more
then I found a rebuilt case for 250.00
figure a 175 for the short shaft or so
now.. I already have a complete crossover and highsteer kit for a dana 60 on the buggy..so that gives me a reason to now buy those bitchin double sheer arms I want so bad.

hmmm

bummer is that pulls around 2000.00 to do full hydro with all parts on the front axel in the buggy..

thats puts me if option two..

800 cage arms
175 coils
175 shocks
750 est front axel
600.00 minimum in drive shafts
625.00 is what I payed for the steering on the buggy's 60
250.00 brackets/panhard parts

so over 3000.00

plus re-gearing front and rear diffs

errrr

also found a 04 dodge d-60, for a grand. complete but he is on the fence if he will sell at that price.

i dont know what to do.

i dont know what to do.

a front end from a 04 dodge would not be a D-60 they stopped using them around 2003 they now use an AAM axle that is based on the 14 bolt semifloat and D-60

sorry I should have worded it that way, that is probably why the 03 and up dodge versions will allow my abs to work as well I assume?

one more option popped up.

option 3

a member here has a ford dana 60 with chevy knuckles and its already rebuilt, bummer is the gears are not what I want.it also already has a high steer arm and new parts on it so I would not to tear apart the buggy or delay its progress. asking price on it is 1700

Option #3.

Swap the gears and sell the gears to Chris Kredit (lostoffroad) for his HP60. (4.56's correct?) What ratio are you looking for? I believe his HP60 has 4.10's.

Harley

im looking to go to 4.88s.

the axel has 4.56's in it I think he said they are new gears but im not sure.

so him getting them is an option if I go that route
