The "under destruction builds" supersize75k5 's driveway of despair and repair

and so it has finally come..

last night I went through the front axle brakes and a bearing some hardware..and half way I decided to put a powertraxx locker in the 60.. so now she is locked front and rear:D was b!tch of a job, I have the thick ring gear so I had to out the carrier, then is just barly would not slide out past the tie rod..I feel good now that is all fresh.

dun dun dun:crazy:

next..

install twin stick
rebuild 205
convert rear to cv drive line
lower the front:hack:
the truck is goin back under the knife..I think I am goin to give in and just put some coil over on:doah:

pics on ze way

i know a guy locally who has a set of D44 flattop knuckles for sale at a decent price,,,,:wink1: *hint*hint***

I've got a set that's already drilled, but they are for coarse thread, and the threads are boogered a little, but I would run 'em,

need one for my dad as well, figured it would make a good birthday gift:D although if we make his project move-able he might want to finish it:doah:

puttin words in my mouth again Jason? :doah:

and yes, it's a phone, i have called you on it before, sent you text messeges, and i get the same responses, "i got ya covered" so i figured i'd try to remind you with a different method :D

check the "local" board and you'll see that several people have some available, i kinda figured with the high dollar stuff you buy for your "used to be 2wd (work truck)" you should have something for a $60-$75 set of replacement knuckles :wink1: :D

14 inch 2.5 kings

time for some reworking:D:hack::weld::grind::woot:

right now I got my caps tapped for hydro, getting ready to weld the mounts to the ruff stuff cover and the tie rod, then make an attack plan for the coil overs and engine cage.

cant wait to lower the truck a few inches!

I have to be honest man and don't take this the wrong way... but why not buy yourself a nice diesel pickup, put a small lift and some 35's on just to stand out and use it as a dd/tow rig... then put the rest of your money into your buggy?
I know part of the fun (or all of the fun for some guys) is the build-up but it seems like by now you could have an insane buggy and nice diesel tow rig.
Again, I'm sure that came across harsh but I've never really understood the method to your madness. :)

have you watched the buggy thread? Its pretty insane in my book,

5.3 ls motor, built t-350 trans, revers valve body, new atlas 4 speed, 1 tons, the front is now getting stuffed with long axle shafts, a detroit, poly flanges, and dedenbar/reid racing knuckles.. 42 inch iroks, double bead locks, aluminum fuel cell, art carr shifter, rear 4 link with 16 inch sway-a-way resivor coil overs, corbeau seats, hydro assist, disk brake locked dana 70 out back. Honestly other than a 4 link in the front or rear steer I cant see where I would put the money, and I dont want either.

I like the diesels but its not for me, im enjoying this truck and building it:D

Fair enough... like I said I didn't want that to come across in a negative manner I was just curious why you keep hacking into your '07...

the main reason for the coil overs is I am unhappy with the coils, the ones I originally bought were too soft of a spring rate and progressive. So I get new national coils but the spring rate ends up being to stiff. So then I change the spring mounts on the frame and try to run the grey ones till I can figure out what I wanted to do...well then I killed a spring, and a nice resivor shock when I jumped it since the spring was to soft of a rate... so now.. im back on the black springs, they ride like crap and im missing a shock! I figured since im this far into it already I might as well do the coil overs. This should also clean the front of the truck up and make the front suspension very tune/ adjustment friendly and allow me to lower the truck down a few inches like I really need to do.

I've been wondering if you might have possibly taken it in to the dealer for any warranty work and what the reactions might have been.:D

when the tranny took a turd at 23k miles it was hilarious.. basicly this is the cliff note version

get tow truck, tow it in, with the truck on the tow truck it wont fit in their lot under the sign...oil lube guy takes down one side of their low clearance sign..truck get unloaded..5-6 techs walk up..I say the truck is an 07..more comments and a oh dear lord, truck sits a few days, I take the truck back..

all well:haha:

Well three weekends at the dessert, this time we finally stayed until morning and i got someone to take a vid, the truck is holding up to my amazement. I had no idea how crazy I was jumping this thing till I got to see a video of it for myself..

Will you be able to finish paying for that thing before you destroy it?
This reminds me of myself 14 years ago with my 2wd 93 Toyota pick-up.
I was able to get it payed off before it went to sh!t.:doah:
