The "under destruction builds" supersize75k5 's driveway of despair and repair

Holy crap! I just came in 3 pages back and already I have seen more carnage and bad luck than any other thread I have read in my LIFE. I am too scared to look at the pages before I came in, I just know it cant be good.

Between ripping the parts truck apart last night, and the 07 apart today..been pretty busy.

Now I am at a stopping point though..

It would be much easier to cage the new cab now before its on the frame, as well as make some changes on the chassis. But Im nervous if I do not put the cab back on it could be several months or worse before I drive the truck again if not longer.. I tend to get sidetracked so I might just press forward while I am motivated.

wow man it would have taken most of us a months to get what you get done in about a day... speaking for myself atleast.

I would get it rolling again while you have the momentum. It is more then obvious you know how to get the cab off it shouldn't be to hard to get to later on.

Well its 2am here.. I have a full day tomorrow and all night tonight so the motivation train is going to roll on:D Monday I have a huge job, so this is my only option being I need a good night of sleep sunday night.

Just picked up some wood for the fire pit, 2.5 gallons of degreaser, oil absorbent, brushes and red bull.

I am really not liking putting it together with out making some changes but it is not too hard to pull the fenders off and thats the primary area I want to make changes. Big thing is to get it back drivable, its a serious pain to push and yank it around with no power steering.

Neighbor is coming to hang out with his 12 pack and watch:haha:

The following pics are scary.. down right questionable and my safety guy appears to be off duty or no where to be found.. What is amazing is what you can do when you really want to do.all on your own with hand tools.. odd sized 4x4s and a rolling cart with 5 out of 6 wheels:crazy:

Ended up deciding to pull the whole dash out of the 02 parts truck.. I made this decision based on the fact that I found numerous wires with different plugs on them to things such as the seats, ac controls, and the steering column.. So I yanked the doors off for more room
and decided to pull apart the 02 first so I didn't ruin parts on the 07 with the learning Curve.

Problem here is the dash requires a degree in origami to take apart! Was a total and utter nightmare. So much in fact that Im strongly considering a carbon fiber rash dash to have more room for the cage, or skinning a cage bar and using the dash cover and facia. I do feel I could get a better/stronger cage in here if I opt not to put the entire dash in. For now this in up in the air for a couple days while I look at some other caged trucks of my cab style for input.

GET-R-DONE

Better cover the eyes of your tow rig, or it might run away. Should be shaking in its boots after all the white truck dis assembly that is going on in your driveway:haha::haha:

Keep it up. I'd bring a 12er and watch too if i was closer.
