Mocked up the sway a ways,

and here is the currently installed ORI 14" struts, for my application I am sure i should have a 18" or 20" version. Mine are at full extension to get the truck to ride hight.

And a side by side reference

The 06 has the t-bars cranked and 315's on it.

Have you considered investing in some hydraulic bump stops....or even the Daystar bump stops that use EVS foam "cusions" instead of oil. With all you jumping and ripping you do, I bet they would be well worth the money! Keep up the good work though, fun to watch!

Eh, it only took one ride in a rig with clackers "air bumps" for me to say hell no to that idea. Clack clack clack clack sucks. I have on some poly bumps, with the new bump stop mounts they work great.

I have also found out if you use a combination of 3/8", 1/2", and 1" plate you can use metal on metal all you want with a 7k truck:popcorn:

Some more pics surfaced

After I nailed the wall we had to make some adjustments to the sheet metal

Maybe mixing up the line up, stumbled onto this 09 with 9000 miles on it for 21k. Would be a sweeeeeeeeeeet work truck, pwr windows, door locks and a very nice set up for running my business.

Bad part is it has a 6.0 not a d-max, but that also makes it cheaper, its also not 4x4. Top pipe racks would also go, I have no use for them and they would keep me out of parking garages. One plus is that it had dual tanks, the 34 gallon plus a big one in the rear part of the frame, would be nice not to have to fill up every 2-3 days like right now.

So the only stupid part is I would still need to 06 with 4x4 to tow the 07 or buggy out to play. I was/am searching for a single cab half ton long bed for a dedicated work truck, i figure getting just 4-5 more mpg would pay it would pay for itself. Right now im getting low tens and i hate never having a empty truck bed and my work crap everywhere.

A 3rd truck solves that and the box would make it very organized. HMMMMMM

Priced out a new 3/4 ton long bed 4x4 ext cab with a utility, if I did that I would get rid of the 06 and just have one truck do both duties but at... 50k. :eek1: I dont think so.

Hey now i have not bought anything yet, give the poor thing some hope.

I need to look into a half ton long bed but the dealer wont sell one with a utility bed on it, I assume the bed is too heavy for the trucks gvwr?

How heavy are these darn things, and has anyone driven a 6.0 dually? Are they hugs turds or???

its even red and you do fire ext. so it would be a match

Duramax's are a dime a dozen up here for pretty cheap might want to check around a bit.

I'm sure it's been said at some point in the last 1,136 posts in this thread but why not buy a diesel work truck/tow rig that's a year or two old and then wheel the white truck and the buggy?
Seems smarter than adding on more and more trucks. The diesel is a nice DD/Tow Rig and would get better mileage than the gassers.
Cutting down on the number of trucks you have to register/insure/maintain just makes good economic sense.

Im picky, and it not that easy to find a new body d-max ext cab or 4 door utility long bed 4x4 pick up with under 50 miles on it.

If I cant have that id rather have a second truck, Ive seen way to many down d-max trucks to bother with one with high millage or cheap out and get bit with a 4-5k injector bill, if that happens it will toss the savings right out the door.

I fully agree and I do not want another darn truck, but I am tired of dealing with my work stuff on the weekend, a short bed, and having to unload the whole truck to use it on the weekend or night.

A half ton gasser makes some sense, I use it for work then park it and its already ready for the next day. Or I do a d-max with a 8 foot utility bed and the back half the truck is all business and I can enjoy the comfort in the front.

Its a pain either way.

forget about another truck and keep the ones you have. Find nice sized (not oversized like we all do!) enclosed trailer and work out of that. You can keep everything in it locked up, park it for the weekend and not have to clean it out for play and when it rains...not that you have that problem...you have a covered area to work in.
