The "under destruction builds" supersize75k5 's driveway of despair and repair

So tonight there are some big boys coming out from the other side of town.. Debating real hard on going and picking up a nitrous kit today or locking hubs... one sounds much more fun than the other.. wonder if anyone in town has a kit.:D

NITROUS!!! I thought this build was insane already. Wonder what will blow first on laughing gas.....you may not have to worry about your axles anymore.....

You break things every trip and now you want to add nitrous?

I usually break when I start goofing off.. My friends want to have a intercom in my helmet to tell me to not jump the truck lol

usually:popcorn:

I need an edge, these guys are claiming 600-750hp, Id really rather just get a supercharger but spending 5000.00 is not on my to do list today.

My only real edge so far has been my 5.38 gears and some of the trucks are running tired big blocks or they have no idea how to tune them. There are two trucks though that I feel will kick my ass.. two of those are claiming big power.

Depends on how the mud is, time before last I was the only truck getting through the whole night, but with these guys... if the mud is good it will be a great time:pimp:

From personal experience the guys claiming that kinda power are full of it. Well around here they are anyway. They really just have a cam and a intake with a holley on top. And seeing the pictures of the local POSes people are racing with you, you should be fine. Unless these guys have a sponsor or just have money out the butt I think you would be find with a 150hp wet shot lol..... if you can find a plate system that goes between the throttle body and the intake manifold you would be set.

A couple of these are a bit more serious.. well at least they seem that way. They all run together and wear mud militia shirts..:haha:

A quote from one of them "mud bogging is not a hobby its a way of life":haha:.... hmmmm looks like you need to move or find something to do the other 29 days of the month:haha:

I am reading up on kits, the one you mention with the plate looks like it actually deals with the timing compared to the cheaper ones. Online most are saying people are fine with up to 150 shot with out tuning or fuel work.

what looks to be a good combo is a dual fuel system, and upgraded injectors.

If the price is going to creep up past a grand though id rather just spend the money on a cam and 6.2 heads.

I really would like to do a cam, and right now my ac system is empty and my radiator needs to be replaced soon so the timing is right to have the front end apart. Id be way to nervous to pull the thing apart tonight though when the mud bogs are tomorrow.. although that would be on par for my style:doah:

Personal experience, buy the hubs. More power in two wheel drive just means the rear tires are just going to spin more, and you are not going to get though the bog as fast as you would with 4wd.

Putting a cam in one of these engines is a pie job, but honestly with giggle gas the torque would surpass any bolt on even a supercharger plus you dont need to much power all the time with how heavy your right foot is. Alot of my fbody friends turn a 125 wet zex single nozzle set up. I do have a friend with a LQ4 swapped trans am with a 175 shot..... I honestly with any amount of nitrous would be worried about your converter because more than likely it doenst have an anti-balloon plate in it. If you went with the giggle gas ud throw the 35splines and flanges on it right?

This one kid I went to school with ran nitrous on his truck the whole weekend and didn't have a problem until the solenoid stuck and the intake manifold exploded.

NO WAY!!! how did the intake manifold explode b/c of a nitrous backfire!!!! that tends happen when you have nitrous puddled up in the intake b/c a solenoid stuck. Sounds like he was being a tard

Them front tires don't look happy either...

There is no getting through in 2wd, no way no how if they have it as nasty as it was last month.

I put the flanges on, 35 spline chromo outers, forged spicer joints and a chromo short side inner.

Sadly I could not get the box done today so I settled for another cap, had a guy machine a piece to cover the cap then make several passes with tig. Looks way better than the one I had done by some one else last year.

I am thinking a cam and nitrous but I wont be rushing the selection just to get it by tomorrow. I have always wanted a cam with a lope to it..:pimp: This truck has the hydro boost brakes.. so why not.

As for the nitrous, if im going to keep taking it in the mud I might go for the wet shot and play it safe but I have plenty to learn still.

Ill call road runner converter, I have a pretty trick converter and he knows how I treat things so who knows, if I go with an aggressive cam it might be time to change it up anyways.:pimp:

Speaking of transmissions it really has been a while since one has taken a crap. wtf, slackin over here:yikes:

I think it was actually not running when it happened, so yeah thats probably what happened

Darn those pesky weak 1 ton axles!

Looks like a Reid racing knuckle upgrade is on the list of todo's this week. Also killed another grill:doah: Ill tie it back up there though and get my moneys worth out of it!

Took first in the mud race, the main competition broke his ghetto/hack fab steering on his rockwell while we were racing and went home early.

After the races I said I was going to play till it ran out of gas or broke, started giving rides, racing loops using both pits and jumping it.

Well it ran out of gas on the trailer after we ratchet strapped the front strait and drove it up..if only it ran out of gas just a few minutes earlier:haha:

Looks my my rear needs some more control, it pogo sticked the hell out of the truck, ORI's did great, the are smoooooooooooooth.

Good times! Someone did get a vid, hope they come through!

you really should be a R&D tester for someone???

Nice job:waytogo:
