The "under destruction builds" supersize75k5 's driveway of despair and repair

Buy it!!!! How sweet would that be.

I would want to redesign the rear cage so you could still use a bed. Removable bedsides would be a nice setup and would really help save sheetmetal. But you could do that with your bed now. I know you want to keep the bed functional but we all see where this is going:D

HMMMM still thinking

this is really temping but this would really set my buggy build back, not to mention create a whole new project.

and that thing needs a tooooooooooon of work to finish.

Doesn't say anything about a title... And there's a lot of welding in those pics that hasn't been finished...

Without a title, there's noway I'd touch that thing... Even if he has the title, your still not getting much and you're starting off with someone else's idea that you may need to change, A LOT...

title here is no issue, worst case is I get reconstructed, state issued or or some other voodoo with a bonded one.

Ive got it in my head, Im actually pretty busy but if this thing is still there by monday I might go for it, worst case it sits in my yard and I think about it for a while or sell it.

BUY IT SHAWN!! Because I can't afford it!

Dunno travis, just dunno, these days Im more and more hesitant to bite off more than I can chew on projects, it is very interesting though.

BTW, id trade this spare hobby money for a wonderful family and great kids any day, you already know it but you're a lucky man:thumb:

I would stay away from it, where does the motor go ? the front suspension is useless the whole front end needs to cut off. If you want to buy it cuz you want a cage then it might be worth it but seems like an expensive cage.

1300 for a professionally bent up and welded cage sounds cheap to me, if you factored the time it would take me and my buddies to get it fully done too... yikes.

The big interest is the changing over to a 4 seater and doing so with a already caged cab.

I would not use the front at all, nor the rear tube work. Might go give it the old eye ball and see just how much they cut out and if it would be hard to put a firewall back onto it.

just curious, but why dont you have the bottom head lights and the front bumper on your truck. no clearence or just cause

For the bumper, lol im lazy id say. I spend a lot of time just keeping the truck together to take it out for the next time, so things like the bumper get placed on the back bumper.

For the lights.. I am getting more and more tired of paying for replacements. The aftermarket ones break way easy and the factory used ones are running me on average 75-150 per set. I have replaced these things countless times, some of them up to 5-6 times at least.

I have a couple spare sets of headlights left but I'm out of the lower lights now, just waiting for a cheap set to pop up.

DO IT! It is the perfect start of an indestructible rig, build a full rec. tube frame, stout cross members, huge links and eliminate every point of failure on your current truck and have room for you and three of your closest friends to all crap your pants while you do something stupid :D

I still jump into projects that I gave no REAL hope of finishing :doah:
And thank you Shawn, from the bottom of my heart, thank you!

Dun dun dun... my transmission is DONE:doah:

Went to the mud bog and they were not playing around tonight.
They dumped 40 truck loads of dirt into the pics and it made for a real challenge.

So that one pesky shaft that I did not replace with a chromo.. the long side inner, well it broke tonight on my 4th run. After I popped the shaft I had to work the truck hard, made it through a few more times and finally my luck ran out.

Got stuck and started rocking it forward and back and started to get free.. well it started getting sloppy and bogged down and seemed to loose any motion ....then everyone started yelling fire:eek1:

I hopped out and it must have looked like clowns coming out of a car... came out with two 10lb fire extinguishers and a 5lb halon ready to battle:draw:

Lucked out "thank god" the fire went out asap and I avoided having to tell people my truck almost burned down with me being in the fire protection business... could have been interesting though.

When I got tugged out I got it to fire up again but it fell on its face, also discovered my computer had two wire that had broken right by the plug.

Yanked it all apart, did a half repair and got the truck running again, had just enough balls left in the trans to get it up the trailer:doah:

Stop on the way home and the 06 wont start again.... so out come the tools and pulled the starter from the 07, the installed it in the 06 only to have a crank but no start... hmmm cps...

Go figure I pulled out 2 out of the 3 wires on the plug.. at this point the damn pliers come out and I borrow the plug and wire leads off the 07 like a true hack.

Finally home, tired and dirty.

Monday ill order up the last chromo shaft from extreme axle sales and start thinking of a game plan for trans number (9???) its all a blur.. this trans had a long life though lol.

Dude, you are never to be around my junk. Just saiyn', no offence. Whatever is around you gets used up!

Lol...come on...I just want to sit in the seat and make vrooom vroom sounds:D

Going to be a long sunday of thinking, all that work to get a new box, get it rebuilt, tapped, then get the Reid knuckles on, drilled, new misalignments for the hiems...

Sometimes I swear this thing is a lemon or something!
