The "under destruction builds" supersize75k5 's driveway of despair and repair

Corolla was a fun little time for sure! With a donut on there and my Gran Turismo stage 3 weight reduction it also did one hell of a tokyo drift:thumb:

Im frustrated right now though, I have been trying real hard to concentrate on one thing at a time but its just getting to be too much.

white truck needs help, I bought a 400 for it and another harness to send out to get reworked. Needs the cage finished; seats, harness's, and I am thinking about a 1 piece front clip, new light mounts and lowering the truck and going down to 40-42's along with more power at some point if I can ever have the truck not need work long enough to get there.:doah: Debating if I want to scrap the whole thing or charge forward and continue feeding the pig $$$

Poor buggy..needs... um.. everything:doah: Just started the rear 4 link last night, next is ordering the aluminum links and jumping into a 14 bolt front:pimp:

Mini truck.. #2 is kicking ass but #1 is getting no love

Jeep project, Ill call this a side project as I have no intention of wheeling it myself. Just ordered a new front 44 housing from the dealer, the whole initial planned cost of this project just went out the window as well as the work load as it needs all new brackets for much of the front.:doah:

06.. just cursed my bushings out of the new 52 inch leaf pack I want to use, plan to swap those in this weekend along with different shackles and 3-4 other small to-do's on it. The bumper is moving along but going taking some time.

Overwhelmed :tongue1:

When I look at all these projects I pretty much just want to turn around and go back inside.

i hear yah on the bushings for the 52's just did that last night took like 3 hrs to get all of em done, toward the end I just said eff it and burned em out with the torch.

I hear you on the frustration. I have four "projects". I won't have the time and money for two of them in the foreseeable future, so they just sit and rot. The other two are my DD and my truck and I'm happy if i can just keep up with the maintinence and squeeze in a little time on minor upgrades once and a while.

I'd love to be able to do as much with my "projects" in my lifetime as you have already completed in this thread.

Well FML.. Went to the mud bogs last night and was a bit hard on her.. I do know better but 5500 rpms sounds so sweet off the line. Whoop$$

That was on the first launch, I was late and still stuck in race mode i suppose lol. Truck made some interesting noises and laster another 5-6 races..then nada..

So.. is it built th400 with transbrake, billet shafts and goodies time yet? Dunno.. I was actually toying with the idea of parting out or selling the truck prior to going yesterday too.

Not sure on its fate now.

I ended up just using a small drill bit and going at the bushing from both sides will it was gone, then used a sawsall to cut some of the sleeve and then drove a punch where the spring eye swaps. Took about 10-15 minutes each after we had the process down.

They are fun!

If it takes me more then five minutes a side I would be suprised, torch out center bushing rubber catches fire and melts/ falls out then cut out outer sleeve. Smokes alot and smells really bad but works fast.

Thank's for the entertainment Sean!! Was at the bogg's last night and won an easy $20 from a buddy!! He doesn't know you!! Bet him you'd bust the tranny before the night was out! HA lmao all the way to the bank!

Lol i do not like you at all now:p:

This trans was considered dead the minute it went in, I said I would beat on it hard as hell so I can see what breaks.

I am 100 percent happy I finally have the front axle holding together though:D

Just parked it in the back yard, ill mull it over and make a game plan.

I like the priority list Shawn....take the time to do it then organize your list with all your projects, and prioritize what comes first to last. It will change as you work on it, but that way instead of looking at all the sh it that needs to be done, you can just start at the top of the list.
And yeah 400 transbrake...whoop ass time

Yah well usually I do that sort of thing outside, but since it was like -10 out last week I decided to work inside.

Torch plus rubber = a smelly flippin mess.. drilling them out was very relaxing and easy.

So a couple days ago I realized that mini #1 was not getting anything done and I fixed that. This one is for me and will be done in a different "quicker" fashion..

If it fits it ships so to say:popcorn:

Started by pulling the bed assembly off and then the engine and dash/wiring. The cool part is it looks like with just a little work the corolla instrument cluster will fit in the china truck dash.. going to be creative and maybe some fiberglass work here.

I knew my wheelbase was going to have to go longer, so I looked where the brackets wanted to go and 12" looked good to me. I left a little meat on them so they pinched over the frame. The plan will be to add some type of plate work. My axle is spring under and my new sami axles are spring over all ready.. should be nice and easy.

Then slung the motor into place after cutting out the firewall, plan is to have a dog house for the front and the back.

The whole assembly is about 36" long 8" will be in the cab, 16-18" will have a dog house in the bed, with the last 10" of the transaxle being under the bed floor. This should leave me with lots of bed space!

CIMG1722.jpg

Basic bracket, plan is to have 2 on the driver side, 1 on the pass side front, and 1 on the back upper. I did this one first so I could get the weight in it and just a stand or brace under the front to build the side ones. This is going to be leaps and bounds easier than mini truck 2..with a cherry picker, jack and stands in the way:doah:

Next was cleaning the frame, I then took a piece of scrap out of my pile and it was the perfect 40" I needed...it fit.. so it shipped:pimp:

Cut the 2"x4" on two of the corners giving me 2 pieces of "L", chopped out the crossmember in the way behind the transaxle as well and took another piece of 2"x4" and made a quick crossmember to make the start of my rear mount tie into.

CIMG1733.jpg

Also got 10 hiems, bungs, and the misalignments in for the front suspension. The plan is a radius arm with side wristed so I can make it a 3 link by removing a pin. I love the radius arms and the stability they offer on my 07..but I want to be a bit more creative on this.

Also had the dog house made for inside the cab, I will drop it back off for some changes next week though so the seats recline more.

That leaves me here till I get back from vacation on mini 2.

mini number 2...

all the 1.5" 250 wall here is making for a killer belly and motor mounts! Just one mount left.. then on to the rear suspension. The belly on this one will not be able to come off being the motor is all the way in the bed. On #1 however.. mine will be able to come out the bottom just in case.

wow I guess you are Shawn...what is that rust doing on the frame???? Looks like an eastern truck there....oh no wait, that's just surface rust.
