The "under destruction builds" supersize75k5 's driveway of despair and repair

4l80e for the 06 just got dropped off.

I had a pretty good recommendation from a fleet manager I know well so giving another shop a try and ill will see how it goes. I was straight up about my truck and my intentions and he seemed confident he can build it and back it.

Getting a transgo stage 2 shift kit, upgraded boost valve, anti walk bushing and a nice low stall converter, after I get it back ill drop the truck off to get 4.88s at the end of the week and it should feel like a whole new truck:thumb:

Jeep parts are ordered but the upper control arm was not on the shelf so could be 7-10 days:doah: The kit is a rockcrawler/pure performance kit, I will say their service on the phone, call backs and dealing with them has been very pleasant :thumb::thumb:

Gears in the rubi axle should be ready soon or already done too. So slow progress but ill take what I can get.:D

you dont set up your own gears man??

I've had help on a few, had the ex's dad do the buggy, 4wp did them on my 07 and ive done my own in a 14 bolt but honestly.. its more of a time verse money thing right now. I also do not have time to deal with a blown up set of new gears lol

3 things.. I don't **** with.. sore dick.. girls underage and new gear set ups:haha:

Speaking of girls, I think I might have screwed up.

Going to see the new lady interest for the 3rd time this week tonight. Pretty excited about her already and she is classy thus far:thumb:

So when am I going to be building these trucks:confused:Should have started dating after I got some **** done first:doah:

Well Im off, this time it sure as hell wont be thai food!

Sounds like another epic saga in "As Shawns' world turns"....
Hey if she makes ya happy go with it. Just don't give up your mantime with us, we need the Shawn build(s) saga to continue.

Good for you on the old girl friend.:thumb:

Just make sure the new one is into what you are, or give her the boot.

I sold some cars I didn`t want to cause my wife didn`t care much for them, but thats OK she likes 4x4s.:D

Get this thing back together man. I wanna see it at the mud bogs again. I had to leave last time before u blew the tranny up.

Or he's off shopping for a new house and ivy leage schools for his kids... :D

Man, between Shawn, Zimmer, and Ryoken it's a full time job keeping up. No wonder I never get anything done. I'll really be screwed when Greg gets back from maternitiy leave... :D

Busy weekend..

My friend david on here got married, niece had her 8th b-day and today I lost my good friend bear. At just under 13 he was still one of the coolest and most interesting Chows I have ever been around. He is actually the reason I know many of my neighbors so well as he used to get out damn near daily and he made lots of friends and swindled em out of treats and hot dogs. The old lady who used to live behind me actually would come get him and take him for a walk everyday till she passed and he would be waiting for me on the lawn with his leash still on as she had real bad arthritis in her hands lol

I had him around for many projects and some how never caught the guy on fire and he sure saw some air time a couple times on accident that Im sure he'll would brag about in doggy heaven :)

Ill miss him like crazy :)

Still never heard from the old trans guy, i heard he was having some medical issues so I hope he is ok.

Talked to the new shop im trying out on friday for the 06 ... He asked me if I knew the trans had got hot..:haha: He then told me a pricy list of parts that have some serious heat damage and wear.. so today I yanked out the trans from the 07 for a parts bin.. I just pray what ever is broke in that 4l80 is not what i need:doah:

Pretty nice to yank a trans in 20 minutes with handtools.. a creeper, irok and a ratchet strap..

If all goes well ill get it back tomorrow afternoon one way or another$$$ :(

So.. now i have a dead jeep with no axle in it.. a dead 07 with no trans in it.. and a dead 06 with no trans and a dodge that is slipping bad that I am trying to drive around to fix all these piles..yay:doah::rolleyes:

RIP Bear..... :(

There is nothing that compares to the loyalty and companionship of a good old dog. Im sure he will be sorely missed.

Sounds like he had a long, good, happy life though. About all you can ask for really.

I'm sorry to hear about your dog man. My lab that I had for 6 years since he was a pup was hit 4 months and killed, it sucks to loose your buddy but all you can do is remember the good times... Keep up the good work on all the projects, I love all the new sheet metal carnage! :thumb:

So back to the buggy.. I am so tired of staring at it and today I got a serious offer on it and damn near sold it. However the reality that I will just be right back here in a few months wanting to build another one.. well its sobering:doah: So... on with the build!

I had considered building a 14 bolt front but sadly time matters right now with so much on my plate and a full custom axle will have to wait. The plan is to fix my 60 with the arb..toss the full hydro and parts I want that I can use on a 14 bolt front later anyways. Then down the road Ill build a bad ass 14 front with Ruffstuffs new housing and the new drop out 14 that solid axle industries are working on.

So.. to speed with up I need a ram mount, truss, link mounts and coil over mounts... hmmm so ordered this set up ! This will give me double sheer, the mounts I need and save me a bit of time to make this thing a roller.:thumb::thumb:

Artec industries has rolled out the silver platter with their new goodies and I cant wait to see how much mud I can pack up in this thing once the buggy is done:pimp:

As for the 06 my trans is done so this afternoon Ill pick it up and toss it in and get that thing back together.. sure makes me hate myself for not using monday afternoon to get my panhard done while the truck was down though:doah:

And thanks for the kind words guys about Bear. I remember when I got him I was real hesitant on getting a puppy and at 8-9 years old he was up there in age but turned out to be a good fit. I grew up with chows, uncles, sisters, mom and dad.. all got em if you raise them right they can be amazing companions and oh so fluffy ones:haha:

Ill get a chow pup next time my sisters dogs get their grove on:thumb:

I tossed in a pic of hers, chows are not for everybody but for our family they have been great for the past 26 years.

Shawn, I'm very sorry to hear about Bear, we just lost our Golden retriever Jack 4 weeks ago so I totally understand how you feel. You can tell by the pics that you gave him the best life a dog could have, you made him a part of your family, in the end that's all that really matters.
