The "under destruction builds" supersize75k5 's driveway of despair and repair

Nice wheels, what do they weigh a piece? I really like the 7 lug pattern. :D

DAMN, nice score man.

I loved my XL's. Even more after I groved and siped them.

They weigh a crap ton:eek1: But they look sexy:D

So to fit the rim hub area I had to swap to new hubs, I had a new ones here with new bearings and rotors I had need to swap on so.. that was a good reason as any.

Took off the H1 rim and tire set up, and the 2" spacers, then unbolted all 24 bolts on the rims, then assembled them, then bolted them up.. somewhere around 200 nuts.. not counting the on and offs we did for clearance, and other bs.:doah:

Went for a test wheeling trip, way better than the h1's I thought and it lifted the truck and inch, some rubbing but it should self clearance:pimp:

Rides smoother too than my balanced H1's:rolleyes: go figure.

Anyways, I did manage to get stuck though..:haha: guess the extra inch did matter.

Looking good, the cheapest ive found them is around 200 each. How do they wear and ride..? I like the smaller wheel combo with the tall tire. Whats the width on those wheels..?

They wear like iron and ride great.

They're Load Range F I think and have a rating of like 4500lbs EACH. Meant to be under a USMC LAV-25 on big heavy beadlock rims with no balancing.

I loved them on Big Ugly.

They are damn heavy though.

as stated above for being non balanced.. eh not bad. with the run flat I cant really do equal or bb's so I think I am going to toss a few gold balls in there. I had them on on of my 86 blazers on bias tsl's a long time ago with good results.

I love em but will hunt for some xmls later.

Today mounted up my heavy duty fire extinguisher mount, painted the tool box and installing the hitch.

so before BB...

hitch
fix exhaust leak :(
spare tire mount
load spares/tools
cb antenna
front recovery
spare d-shafts
check fluids
maybe swap to twin electric fans
new shock mount in rear and new shock up front
replace a tail light bulb:popcorn:
wire a ground on a switch for 4 low
add some tube to the front bumper for reinforcement

and... go:thumb:

I might add a 1 inch block and u-bolts too being I already have them.. hmm

You can have that all done by 4:17 am tomorrow if you stop working on the other thread.

:doah::whistle:

Took the beater sami and my truck out for some wheeling.

The sami was plaiuged with a battery issue and after too long my truck started getting hot but had some fun.

Tonight tossed on the craziest jet engine sounding fan clutch, a new AC resistor so my truck is chilly inside again, a reverse light "mine sucked the other night and I smashed the bumper:doah:"

Still a little to do on thursday before we leave like the front recovery points and gold balls in the wheels but all looks good thus far:thumb: My darn shocks wont be in till thursday so king of stretching that one but I pray they make it.

Here is a pic from the other trip last week and this last trip out. Wheels are so purdy:D

Where did you put the grooved ones? They are Moab veterans you know..... The others have lots of miles on them, been to Missouri and back (in a trailer)!

It now has two grooved ones up front, last night at 2 am I was on the freeway and one of the best tread ones sidewall went capooy:eek1: At 75 mph..

I had a spare but was in decent clothes so waited for my buddy to bring me a floor jack rather then dick around with the factory one.

Not so confident now:doah:

Lol, you ran those?! I looked at 'em over at Brents - they were dry rotted to $#!t. Theres no way I would've been doin' 75 on those crusty old tires! :haha:

eh:dunno:

Looks like it was caused by a leaky valve core, tire was hot as **** when I pulled it off so I assume it was low. Valve core is a leaker for sure so it makes sense.

Going to load up to spares.

its 2 something in the morning:doah: Still working on the truck, cb is done, front recovery points are done. Had some fun with my welding table and trying to put a bend in 3/16 plate:haha: Both me and my buddy jumping on it woth a home brew brake:doah:

Getting there, have a couple jobs to do today, mount some shocks, load up, laundry and get the spares mounted.

ah!

Good luck man!!!

Ill need it, decided to pull an all nighter and get the track bar mounted in there too, when I swapped from low pinion to this high pinion axle I didn't reuse my old mount do to the excessive welding:doah:

So completed the track bar axle mount, new hiems and installed.. yay no bump steer!

Then decided to hook up a nice 100 percent "so im told" duty cycle air compressor, put it in the tool box, ran a fused power wire and set it up with a weather proof switch. I hope to have time to mount up my air tank too:thumb:

Decided while in between my welder cooling down to remove the door moulding and swap my white flares for the black work truck ones, the contrast is nice!

Then went crazy and busted out the Rustoleum and started painting the shock hoops and the new recovery mounts/skid:pimp:

I pray my shock comes in today:eek1:

I don't have time before I leave tonight but I did leave room for for a 12k, all I have here are a couple 8k winches.

Its 5pm here and I just got my tires mounted on rims for spares, still need to load up, mount the shock, oil change and maybe plumb the air tank. Getting there .
