The Urban Wheelin' Thread

Yep, I'm in Downtown LA :D Climbing a pole that belongs to the first high rise building in LA, 1928, Historical Landmark @12 stories :haha:

cool! i also work in downtown LA but closer to Union Station. I thought it was the Bradbury bldg from your description but I can see the back of the Orpheum Theater so this is somewhere along Spring/Main around 9th street?

So I was out grading the rock off the driveway in front of my shop in preparation for installing a new waterline for a hydrant. I'm using my homebuilt little loader that I made from plans. When finished I turn and drive over the pile and think about this thread. Let's see your Bobcat flex like this!

That thing cool.

I DEMAND build thread and said plans
Sorry, built it in 03 before we had the internets out here in sticksville. I have no build pics. I did make a grapple for it for firewood cutting. Because it can flex I can drive over about a 10" log in the woods carrying other logs. Cut 8-10 footers, load on trailer, drive loader on the back of trailer, drive home and unload. Cut and split as needed.

Plans available at http://www.cadplans.com/cadtrac.htm. They get $199 for the plans. They also have a backhoe plan set for it as well as stand alone backhoe plans.

Enough hijacking!

I like it but I would try to build a cage in case a log or tree decided to get squirrelly on me. That thing can flex!

An "average" LA commuter has to give that Blazer a third glance if they have not had their third cup of Starbucks to figure out if its a dream of some sort. One of my favorite builds on here, plus the look is just anti LA. Very cool.

I'll get some better ones this weekend after I fix some "driveability" issues I encountered this weekend :waytogo:

This is the first time I've flexed the axles on my blazer. I really need to get out of this concrete jungle. All stock with 31x10.50s. Don't hate on my michelin all terrains.

I think this is what the thread is about.

The tires were at 20 psi. If I aired down, might have gone further up. But when I did, I had no spotter and didn't even know if I was on the ramp correct. Did good though. All the jeep dorks were very impressed!

I was waiting for someone to call me out on this. The spot ended up being a dud and I traded in that truck. :haha:
