A few weeks ago i picked up a set of H1 wheels with Mag runflats for $180:woot:. Now I'm starting the process of cutting down the runflats and getting ready to recenter the wheels. The list for this winter include :Mod wheels and runflat, Install new clutch, Install hydro bell, and if funds allow install crossover steering. Has anyone run the mag inserts with the 37" radial? any issues I will run into?:dunno: Thank you in advance for any information.

Friday I received a call from a scrapper friend of mine telling me about a truck he was asked to remove from a customers property. I went to check out the truck, It was a 74 dodge 3/4 ton 4x4. Long story short I picked up a D60 :woot:rear and a divorced 205 for free:thumb:. looks like I get to add swaping my corp.14 semi float for the D60 to my growing list of to do's.

So over the weekend I was pretty productive in the garage. I installed a new clutch kit, upgraded to a hydro bell, and got everything working correctly. The old bell turned out to have two bolt holed stripped. I think that accelerated the clutch failure lol. That comes with the buying someone else unfinished project.

Oddly enough I would not swap in that rear 60 for a 14 sf unless it was a HD version and 35 spline shafts. Which I doubt it is.

Seriously, going from a SF 14 bolt to a stock D60 rear is a down-grade for sure.

You can throw a bunch of money at the rear D60 and make it a bit better than the SF 14 bolt, run the SF 14 bolt you have (free!) or switch to a FF 14 bolt. With 37's, IMO, either the SF or FF 14 bolt will be very durable for you.

The rear D60 has 1/2 ton sized, 1.31" 30 spline shafts. Upgrading means a new carrier/spider gears, new shafts, machine work on the spindles (if you're lucky enough to have a spindle that can be machined).

Or you could buy a FF 14 bolt that is still WAY stronger than the "upgraded" D60 rear for less.

In my opinion though, with 37's, I'd keep the SF 14 bolt that's in there.

Thanks for the Information:thumb: saves me the time of finding out the hard way lol. The SF 14 is open as is the 60 but a spool for the 60 is a lot less expensive compared to anything I have found for the SF 14. The 1/2 ton axle that was in the truck had an Eaton posi and I definitely miss the added traction. With that being said is there a traction aid You would recommend for a limited budget?

I was given a pair of dodge front knuckles the other day. Both of the knuckles are flat top but the brake caliper bracket is bolt on, Has anyone used these on a 10 bolt front? Are these as strong a a normal D44 flat top knuckle? Also still looking for a decent spool/locker for the 14 blot SF on a budget, any suggestions?
