The Wonton

Good looking dually, what are your plans for it?
In the process of building a gen 6 block to replace the mk 4. It’s a little tired these days lol. Other than that, some body work and one of these days I’d love to convert from 2wd to 4wd

I'm the same way on pics.
Some times I'll click away every few minutes, and some times I'll work on something for days and not take any.
Then when I AM taking them, it seems only 1/3rd actually get kept or posted lol.

Yes I get busy then forget to document my progress lol :doah:

Anyways, here’s my engine progress! This is a gen 6 454 that I am keeping mostly stock with a few upgrades. Stock bottom end, comp extreme energy cam (no pics lol it’s already in the block and I’m not taking it back out). 232 lift intake, 288 exhaust with 110° lobe separation. .51/.52 lift.

I ditched the factory valve springs and went with a set of trickflow valve springs with a rate of 368 lbs/in and 10° retainers. The springs area single spring setup with a rotation elimination coil built into the spring itself which is nice since those are taller than factory and I don’t have to use rotator eliminators under the springs. I’m reusing my factory lifters and pushrods since they didn’t show any signs of major wear.

All in all, it should pair nicely with the edelbrock rpm air gap intake and the 750 Holley I also have for this motor. Not going for crazy power but wanted a little more pep in the step without it being a major pain to daily drive. IMG_7972.jpegIMG_8006.jpegIMG_8042.jpegIMG_8043.jpegimage.jpgimage.jpg

More pictures throughout the build so far. Waiting on a timing kit and alignment dow pins then I can start throwing it back together and begin pulling the mk 4. There was actually one bent valve that was replaced while heads were at the machine shop. No damage to the piston thankfully.
More pictures to come sometime next week
