I’m on my 2nd thermostat in a month, the first one, 195F, would open between 210 and 240 depending on its mood. So I swapped in a 185 that opened at 200 on the stove, but now it is stuck open in the Suburban. These were both Oreilly house brands. I should have found a Standt but what are you guys running?

The past few Stant Superstats I've had haven't been much better.

I think I put an AC Delco from Rock Auto in my Camaro and it's been good.

I did a 383 chevy crate motor with a Stant t-stat. Sucked. It would "snap" open at about 240 then worked ok. Did several tests on the stove in boiling water, what a hunk o junk. Bout a generic at local part house, it would not close completely so everything took forever to warm up. The part manufacturers seem to think it's all about price, and I get that (a little). I WANT A QUALITY OPTION to be part of my part byying decision!

Stant 180 degrees.

I grabbed an AcDelco 195 and it has USA stamped in it! It opens at 210 on the gauge and 200 on the stove, and runs around 190 driving ao I’m happy with it. That means it will crap out in 3 weeks.

I just swapped in a 160 (thought I had bought a 180 but turns out was a 160), because the previous 195 wasnt cutting it. Turns out the 195 (which has less than 5k miles on it) was shot, and i went to the extreme to make sure I didnt have overheating issues. The 160 opens at 170 on stove and gauge is midpoint between 100 and 210. Truck isnt driven in winter so will probably be fine, but will be keeping an eye out for running rich. Once it gets to 85-90*+ will be the real test
