I called a couple tire shops, to price-check dismounting/remounting tires.
Best price I could find was $70!!!! :eek1:

Are you serious?

going rate these days if on car now.

ask them loss tires off vehicle. that will get you better at some shops.

and no more lead weights and price of tin weights now is crazy so there is another increase in price.

The removal/mounting is simple enough -- Issam has the thing to do it. Hell, I think I have one in my shed somewhere.

Balancing it, then you gotta pay them, but if you came in with the tires mounted, a rotate & balance might be cheaper.

See if you have a local "Tech" school with a auto mechanics class.

My son goes to one here and their service is free best I know. I get all the free alignments and balances and flat repairs I want with my son being a student there. Oh and brake jobs with machining of drums and rotors.

Did you call Radial Tire off of cottage way? The manager Tim is a pretty nice guy. I often get away with leaving a case off beer in the truck for the guys and there's no charge for mounting and balancing. Not sure if he will do it for everyone but I do see a lot of beer in their fridge every time I'm there!

Dude lets work something out to do it at my work.
Only downside is its jn davis.

Just let me know.

For future reference - Wal-mart usually is the cheapest. I wouldn't bring them TPMS or fancy rims unless you know somebody there, but for basic stuff it's surpisingly cheap. They swapped tires between two sets of rims for me last fall, with balance and it was like $28 total. They don't even really advertise the prices for some of the services, so it may vary by location. Sam's Club has maybe the lowest advertised rates, but they won't always do it with carry-ins.
