So back in the 80's I painted and used this stuff on rust spots and it worked great. I have been considering buying a sprayer and DA to paint the burb myself. So I checked NAPA to see if they still made Tripple Etch (what it was called).

The guy at NAPA had never heard of the stuff and he had worked there for ten years. So he had to check the computer and BAM they still make it Denver did not have it but Salt Lake did and it would be $6.00 shipping. I said could you get it through normal channels and he said he would try.

The stuff is $90 a gallon and they have quarts at $32 so I said get me a quart part number MS QT6877. Here is the info...

Works pretty good? Does it convert the rust?

I've been using Eastwood fast etch and that stuff works really good and is like $25 a gallon.

My experience is from over 20 years ago and in Ohio. It worked real good you go to bare metal then wipe this stuff on and keep it wet for 3 mins and have to wear rubber gloves. Then wash it off with water and if it beads off repeat till runs sheet like off. Blow off with air and then shoot the primer sealer. Held up real good and no rust bubbles came back in 5 years.

It don't turn black or any thing like a rust converter.
