alright i got a chance to pick up a 6.2 and th400 for a couple $$. question is, its missing the accessories since its coming out of a m1008. what should i do to check it out? he said he is gonna try to turn it over....

so is it worth it if its comin out of the military trucks???

Well that makes it a J code engine to start with.

Go peruse the diesel forum. The basics are to just see how greasy it looks. A lot of them, especially the pickups with the super low gearing, didn't see a lot of miles but spent eons idling in the motor pool over the last 2 decades and change. So you can find a low mileage, decent running engine that's got leaky seals pretty easily.

so as long as its not a bad block then its pretty much worth it im guessing. i would end up putting new pistons, starter, etc anyways

Oh yea,the 6.2 ls pumping out almost 400 horse at the crank, fuel efficient as all hell, great motor for power......or did you mean the diesel?
If so,disregard my statement:whistle:

dont think... just do. I certainly wouldnt mind having a few spare 6.2's laying around to plop into unsuspecting sbc engine bays ;)
