There's a few threads re: Cummins-to-K5 swaps in the Diesel forum. As a non-Member, you can read but not post. $25 a year for Membership could help you out a whole lot...

I use a Nv4500 manual 5spd ,my stock 32 spline Np205 .I make my own mounts, engine crossmembers. There is no need to beef up the frame.
The only thing that I would change would be the A/C, so I didn't have to trim the frame. The conversion has been great, going on three years and no problems.

Hey CrewCab59, Im doing the same thing. I have a 1981 Chevy 1 ton crew cab that I made into a shortbed. The problem I am having is deciding the best way to go with this swap. I have the COMPLETE 81 crewcab with :turbo 400, 205 t-case, dana 60F and C14 R. I also have the COMPLETE RUNNING 1995 dodge 2500 with :12V cummins, NV4500 tranny, 241 (i think) t-case, dana 60 F and dana 70 or 80 rear. I would like to bolt my chevys 205 to the dodges NV4500. With my racetrack 8 bolt pattern on my 205, how can I mate it with the round 6 bolt pattern of the NV4500? Any help would be greatly appreciated, im new to all this as well as new to this site. Thanks in advance

well ,
1. sell the Gm th400/205 .
2. buy a dodge 1Gen 205 29 spline.
3. buy a round Gm 205 ,this will have 32 spline.

The Dodge Nv4500 will have 29 spline .

Best anwser buy a dodge 1 gen 205 bolt up and go ,there might be a shifter mods/ bracket ??

Thanks

That was fast! Thanks a ton! What years are concidered Gen 1 dodges, and that Gen 1 205 will have the passenger side front driveshaft? Thanks again.

When I say 1 gen dodge, that's 1 year with the CTD 89-93

Go to the diesel section on this site, there were some selling them.

Thanks
