Ok guys/gals - help a brother out here.

I am thinking of selling my 99 3rd gen 4runner sr5 v6 4wd (DD)

My plan was tell sell it and get a k5. Thinking I could get a reliable k5 and walk away with a couple grand. I was looking for something fairly unmolested. It will be my DD but I work from home and do not drive a ton. We have a 89 burb which is our family wagon as well.

I came across this and was curious if he might be asking too much? So I figured reaching out to the ck5'ers since y'all haven't steered me wrong yet.

I t/t the guy and he said he couldn't go lower than 3800 on it. If this is a good deal please don't go getting this out from under me lol. give me a chance to join the club.

Thanks all,

Jason

That thing sure looks nice. I'd go look it over and give it a drive to be sure, but I don't think you're going to find many that are cleaner than that! $3,800 isn't bad either IMO. Keep us informed.

Sorry, that was too nice to pass up. I just sent him a deposit and I drive up next weekend to get it...............

Just KIDDING!!!!!!!

If its as clean as it looks, that is a good deal IMO. Its hard to find something fairly untouched. But for that kind of money, make sure to look it over really well and dont be afraid to walk.

I was going to print out the what to look for section in "the garage".

Pro's / Con's - I am not too scared of the carb. I won't be banging this around in the woods at weird angles.

Things I should look out for in a carbed rig? It has been awhile since I had one.

really just make sure it runs right... They're simpler than efi, but not everyone knows how to deal with a carb (ie cold starts, altitude changes etc). Sounds like you've got it covered.:waytogo:

If it runs right and the body is rust free/straight, then that is not a bad price.

Thanks Y'all.

Well I posted my 4runner up this afternoon on CL so we will see.

So if anyone is in GA. and wants a 99 4runner come and get it so I can get a K5 lol.

probably wanna take down that link. no selling in the Garage. You can probably post it for sale in the For Sale section though. I dont think any of the K5s in there would mind. :D

For that money, i'd want a TBI rig. If you are going for reliable, and used to having a newer rig, i dont' think going Carb is the way to go.

It should be able to pass everything... but a gas pump... however with a deep enough wallet that is not an issue.

Looks like a nice truck. I ran a '79 with 4bbl carb, never had any problems (with the exception of single digit MPG). You should be okay for a DD or mild wheeling.

Andrew
