Im running 12 inch super lift springs on my k5 now. I built the truck to run 44s in the mud bogs. I'm wanting to down size to a 38.5-40s for medium trail ride and weekend daily driver.

So question is could I run a 6" ORD spring and still run 40s

I also have a 3" body with the 2" cut out fender flares

Also I'm running Dana 60/70 drw

Are you willing to trim the fenders?

Aren’t you running DRW width axles with SRW wheels? (extra wide stance)

9” is fine for a trail warrior. Maybe when flexing you might grab a fender corner.

The fenders are already trimmed with the cut out fenders it's just if the tires get into it now I'm sure it would rip the fender flares off. Yes it's super wide with the SRW on DRW axles don't really want to change that.

Actually it does. I have a friend with this set up in a Suburban, have someone turn the wheels while you watch from outside - you see that having the tire assembly further out from the pivot of the knuckle causes the tire to roll front to back some during the turn. With the ORD springs being super flexy I’m betting you’ll get in to the back of the fenders pretty good.

This is how it currently sits with the lift and a set of 39.5/15/16.5 on a 12 wide rim not sure about back spacing...I just feel it's to big for a trail truck and rough as a driver on the street...could I live with it yes, but would it be worth a suspension change is the question

4" on 39s with about the same cutting. Put it on h1 wheels.

This was by far the most drivable configuration.

My k5 has custom length ORD 6" springs with 3" body lift. Axle moved 3-4" forward. My tires will still touch the firewall when flexed hard while turning. Although I have 44's on 14" wide wheels with way too much offset.
If you put the tires under the truck with proper offset on the wheels, I think you may be ok. ORD springs sit fairly flat, they don't move the wheel rearward as much when under compression, when comparing to a standard lift spring.
