Thinking of doing the unthinkable... *Rotor to cap gap. Normal?*

Those links really got my idea juices flowin! Im thing of somehting ultra simple. I'll get back to you here in a few after i perfect at least the idea portion.

That looks good.
I hate to say it, but it just struck me that I almost certainly have free access to a smoke machine whenever I need one.
I was thinking about automotive instead of just thinking about smoke.

I am real good friends with these folks.

http://www.lltupelohoney.com/index.htm

They make some of the best honey in the world. You can't buy it many places.
Everybody who thought they liked honey that I have given some to has thrown away their old honey.

This family has been working with bees so long, they very seldom need smoke, but they have plenty of smoke machines laying around.

Next time I am checking on a HVAC air leak or vacuum leak in my truck, I am going to ride over and borrow one.

So what i did was, backed off all the rockers(all valves being completely dhut, all rockers loose) plugged off all vacuum lines, and plugged the throttle bores with some big rubber caps. Then i just took a cigarette and blew the smoke into the one vac line i didnt plug. The smoke only came from the throttle shafts. So i pulled the throttle body off and put it on the bench and checked again using a different port. Still lots and lots of smoke. Then i taped off the intake and blew smoke into it. Couldnt SEE anything. but curiously i could still blow air into it. Unlimitedly. It would build "pressure" but i could blow into it (slowly) non stop. Not nearly as fast as i could blow threw the throttle body.

THEN, I made a rubber plug deal and stuck it into each of the cylinders and blew threw it. They were all pretty consistant. Tonight after work i got a buddy coming over to listen to the exhaust and intake to see if he can hear anything while im blowing in the cylinders. i know the 1psi i can produce with my lungs aint much but its worth it for free quick preliminary checks.

So, I found some o-rings that will seal up my throttle shafts. GOing to have a backup sealing system also. I'll get some pics up tomorrow but those of you with the tbi may be interested.

Well i put it all back together today and it still runs like ass... Just dumps fuel! If i unplug one of the injectors it runs "better" and the vacuum jumps to around 19inhg. with them both pluged in it runs so bad that its hard to get an accurate vac reading but it seems to be around 10ish.

Well im now totally out of ideas. I ordered my usb cable so we'll see if that tells me anything. In the mean time, im going to be saving my pennies to find a good running parts truck with a tbi 350 in it and do a little swaparoo.

Going to try to Data-Log in about an hour. Hoping you guys can see something that doesnt look right and point me in a new direction.

Logged some data today! I think any way... my computers battery died in the middle of it so I don't know if it retained that data file and I'm not sure yet where to go to try and find it. Only thing that stood out to me is my o2 sensor reading was always right around.018 or something. And the map and iac seemed kinda strange.

So i guess im most concerned about the 02 reading. It never got above about .018. Also it threw a code 44 which is lean o2. strange as its running rich! Thinking maybe i should install a heated 02 maybe?

Got the data logged and found it on the comp. now i have to figure out how to make it accessible to you dudes.

And sense i seem to have taken cross posting to the extreme and fordum is helping me not be such a tard, here is the data! I have wanted to do this for over 4years now!
