thinking of runing a in cab snorkel.

im thinking of runing a in cab snorkel. not so much for deep water crossing but more being able to go through mud, and water fast with out getin filter wet. i plan on using a stock air cleaner with some mods on my q-jet. now what im concerned about is keeping my heater box. ive been searching online and everybody i seen do this has taken there air box off. but i want my air box for my heater. so theres a place right above the air box. would i beable to cut through that and the fire wall and reach inside or is there a big space between the outer fire wall and inner fire wall? i dont wana run it out the fender using the fj80 snorkel since i do get in rocks and tight spots, which would probly get ripped off eventually.

Do you get the smell of gas in the cab though? I can't have that.

i didnt even think of the smell of gashopefully somebody chimes in on this.

I'm pretty sure you will get the smell when its not running, a little anyway. the main thing is that it is going to be unbearably LOUD. Take your other vehicle if you have a quiet one and remove the tube to the air box just for a trip around the block. when you gun it you will see how loud it is. Usually its masked by the louder exhaust.
