I went wheelin the other day and now I noticed the next day my truck would idle kinda rough so I'm like ok time for a tuneup. But its gotten a little worse like it barely idles like crap and barely idles at all, it doesnt stall or anything tho but it sounds like it wants to. But other than that it runs fine. But then I pull into my friends dads driveway whos really paranoid about getting oil or dirt on it and I get out and notice a lot of oil is dripping from underneath. The tcase and everything around it is covered in oil. I look underneath some more and notice there's a gash right behind the starter on that cover for the flywheel i thought. I can't imagine oil leaking from there tho. Its not tranny fluid either. So could it be coming from behind the block?? I have pics but their kinda crappy here;s the gash where the brighter circle thing is by the starter http://s9.photobucket.com/albums/a61/lochenjons/?action=view&current=PICT0020.jpg

I would guess it's leaking from the back of one of the valve covers/intake. Stick your hand back behind the heads/valve cover/dist. area and feel around. See if it comes out wet with oil. If it does, you've atleast found the area where the leak is coming from. Wouldn't worry about the gash thing...It looks like its just the cover like you mentioned. Not the source of your leak.
