is what I want. Does anyone know what it's technical name might be, or it any factory colors are like this? I would really like to do this color gray on my truck, however it would need to be a spray can or roll on type of application. I don't care about my paint, it will get ruined, but I would like it all one color and easily "touchable" after a days bashin :waytogo:

Is it possible to have someone shot this color and then can the extra for me to roll on later? But I guess that would look WAY different, spray against roll. Maybe a small spray can to use with the already mixed paint?

Really thinking about having a shop sand it down, put a primer on, and paint this color. BUT I want to touch it up myself, hence the dilemma. I'd love to do this color in a roll on rustoleum.

you could have on day or maaco shoot it cheap and you can get rattle cans filled with the same paint at auto body & paint supply like finishmaster, theres one in pasadena on foothill.

That is pretty close to Duplicolor "storm gray" that is part of their commercial or fleet colors and it is ready available in rattlecan and quart size at most auto parts stores. I painted the bumper on my truck with it and it was damned near a perfect match for my dodge "graphite metallic"

I had the same grey color as the OP's K5 in the first post, on an 87 Silverado K20 4x4 pickup and I had an auto paint store scan it and then make me some aerosol spray cans with the same automotive paint.

They labeled it magnesium for the color?

Volvo paint code 455. It's a metallic base/clear but maybe you can have it mixed as a single stage or without the metallic? Get a gun and spray it yourself.

My other (cheap way out) thought, buy a gallon of Rusto gray and a gallon of black. Mix in a bucket to the desired dk gray. Spray on with either my cheapo HVLP gun or my Wagner power painter gun.

I had a '89 Camaro that looked like the same or similar color, kinda difficult to tell really from a picture on a computer monitor, but mine was also gunmetal grey, slight hint of the metallic sparkle, but a nice deep grey. I liked it, went real well with the black and light grey interior too.

Check out Gun Metal Gray Metal from the auto store, they have it in spray can and it is very close to what you want and it really looks nice.

Im gonna do either that color or redo the gloss black thats on it. I think the only thing about that scheme I didnt like was the top was the same color. Gun metal gray with a flat black topper... H3LL Yah!:thumb:

If that guys up to the dunes next time i go up ill take a vid so you can hear how sexy it sounds:thumb:

I fell in love with the color of my camry, its not really a color, it looks like its just a full coat of black chrome metal flake with clear over it.

That's pretty much the color I wanna spray in my suburban. I love the ford and dodge gunmetal colors, can't afford those so why not make my own? Haha

Has anybody suggested "tractor paint"? Not sure if you could find a close color to what you want, but it's what a bunch of these southern boys are using around here for their trucks...I don't know much about it, but can find out. A buddy of mine sprayed a hardbody flat black with it and I know another guy that used red...never looked at it up close though, but if it's tractor paint it should be easy to touch up.
