OK, as some of the Lounge readers may know, my little brother, Randy, was killed by police at my parents' house Tuesday morning.
My parents are really tore up about it. We have two completely differnt stories about what happened.
The police were called to the house by a neighbor because they thought they heard fighting in the house(domestic). My brother and his wife had been drinking at the house(kids were with grandpa) and my brother is a very loud person. My sister-in-law says there was no fighting, just Randy being a loud drunk.
The police say my brother opened the door with a shotgun and one cop grabbed the barrel and wrestled with Randy to get it away, then managed to get his pistol out and fire 7 rounds into him while wrestling him.
My sister-in-law was there in the living room and watched what happened. According to her, my brother was walking to the safe to put the shotgun away after showing her how it worked(load, unload, saftey, etc.). She said he turned a step or two away from the safe to look at the front door(it was open, but the screen was shut). That is when the first cop opened the door and fired upon Randy 7 times. She says they didn't announce their presence or tell Randy to put the gun down. Just opened the door and laid into him and the second cop had to tell the first to stop firing multiple times.
From the looks of it, the cop fired the first round off before he even had his pistol aimed(there is a round that goes diagonal through the table by the front door and clipped the bottom edge of the table.
The Escondido police are already not doing good. Their Chief is under investigation right now for wrong doing and there was another killing by the PD recently that is being questioned.
We are having the funeral Friday at 4 at the McLeod Mortuary in Escondido, CA.
Mods, if you must delete this, go ahead, I just wanted to let you all know what was going on.
