I haven't found that a rear suck down winch is needed for recreational wheeling.

I would do some shock tuning before jumping into the middle of that project.

If you really need one, just weld a 5/8" or so diameter solid bar bent in a loop onto the axle someplace that you can get into some beef. Then attach an atv type winch between your propane tanks with the cable running down to it.

Brandon pretty much said it.

I've never felt the need for a suck down winch, I don't really know what's going on with your setup unless the air shocks aren't adjusted right.

so ive read tons of stuff on air shocks on pirate but can some one explain the tuning a little better to me on here...there is so much over there its sometimes hard to wade through it

Have you seen this writeup and this excel sheet?

I've never tuned an air shock, hell, I've never even tuned a regular adjustable nitrogen shock. I do understand how they work, its explained pretty well in the Billavista article.

If you have some specific questions I'd be more than willing to help if I can.

You are going to find that there are a lot of variables in your tuning. Oil level, PSI of the charge and even the temperature of the shock is going to play into the ride quality and height.

We had all 4 of my air bumps apart last night changing the compression valving. I will try to get the pictures that I took down loaded and posted in my Race prep thread.

Your King air shocks are just a long travel version of my King air bumps so the pics will give you an idea of what they look like inside.
