it's my 14FF disk swap. i don't need parking brakes, so i got 3/4 calipers and rotors. looks killer to me. i painted the brackets and calipers the same color as my truck. the bearings were just replaced about 5k miles ago...so they're good to go too. can't wait to get her under the truck.:D

Is it me or did you forget to put the bolts in to hold the brackets to the flange?

The third pic down, look at the flange. I don't see any threads sticking out which looks like the four bolts have been forgotten?

Or maybe I'm blind....

no no. they are there...but cranked down they are just one thread short of being flush with the back of the flange. i suppose i could have left the split washers out and it would have stuck out(like stock) but i figured with the locktite, it would be ok. :)

Is 3/4 ton rotors and calipers all the you need for the swap? Besides the obvious bracket of course.

Nice, but the studs seem a little short also.

Hey, thanks for the picks. I got my 14bff couple weeks ago and am kicking around the idea of doing a disk conversion too but don't know if 1) I have the know how to do this my self since they are about the single most important element of my truck. 2) I could better spend the $300 - $700 else where on other upgrades. Also, would you be willing, or someone reading this, be able to put together a full parts list of what is needed as far as this conversion goes if I don't buy a complete kit. Don't necessarily need part #'s but that would be good too. If I do this to my axle I'm going to do it myself so I want to have all the info avail before hand. Looks good above and thanks in advance fellas.

Big Blzn, If you use the SEARCH you will find all the parts you will need.

To 01maroonz71, What are you going to use for the lines? I have read that it is good to use a braided flexible line for the last foot or so from the hard lines.
Looks like a clean job.
What was your deciding point to you not needing parking brakes anymore?????

Parking brake is great to have. Especially when being towed off a trail with a non running truck.

thanks guys!!! yeah, the swap is damn easy in my opinion. took all of like 1.5hours after i had all the parts. as far as the studs go....im gonna test fit some wheels one day this week and make sure it's cool. im sure it will be fine though.

as far as brakes lines...im still researching that. i may just run hardline all teh way. i have a bender and flaring tools so it should be no big deal in my opinion. but im still working on that.

as far as the parking brake...i figured i never really used mine up till now, so no biggie if i loose them. especially on an auto. but....it's definately on my list of future mods, just not that high right now. those ebrake calipers aren't cheap. and these will work for now.

thanks ya'll.

Don't forget to turn the calipers over so the bleed screw is up. If not you can't get all the air out of the system.

oh yeah. duh!!!! blonde moment. i know about the calipers, they're backwards...i just bolted them up in a hurry to snap some pics. it started to rain some crazy sideways rain yesterday when we were finishing up, and it was coming in the garage....so i just threw them up there. can ya'll recommend some lines to me....

thanks man. those look to be for the caddy calipers. i was thinking i could use my stock front lines on my truck now...since i have to replace them when i put my lift on.

Doesn't matter, Caddy versus stock front calipers.

When I did my K5's disc, I got a kit that came with some short softlines.

When I did my towrig, I pieced it out as it's totally custom (dually), and just rolled up the original front softlines and hung them around the shocks so they wouldn't get caught up.

As long as you're good with cutting flaring, it's easy to do it however fits best on your rig.

im using some front 85' astro van 10mm banjo lines for my discs... the line is about 10" long or so and mates right up to the cheap off the shelf hardline from advanced auto
