but why can you use a index ring on a sm465 and flip a ford 205 over for pass side drop.is the ford the same bolt patern?is there something im missing here?just looking for an explanation assuming that everything is 32 spline and floor pan is not a issue.go ahead and tell me how it wont work please cause im not seeing something here

im guessing also the rails would be on the bottom but you could always rig up a shifter

you could easily plug the vent then tap a new one out the bottom right?then for a shifter you could build a cable shifter.im just looking at it like i have to buy a chevy 205 and a for 205 to be 32 spline all the way through.im sure there is a reason besides simple stuff but idk what it is

technically for my rig i keep it in lo range almost all the time so a shifter really isnt nessary.thats the beauty of a 465 :D

Anything is possible, but if I recall, the Ford has a 31 spline input, so you would have to change that to fit, and then you are still running an upside transfer case - I am not sure what problems might go along with that. Ford uses a different round pattern (some of the bolts are off). If you want the 32 spline outputs, Chevy already has it on the rear, and then you could just swap a Ford front output into the Chevy 205. It just sounds like more work/headache to reinvent what Chevy already did, while it would be easier to just upgrade the Chevy case.
