I keep telling myself to stick with what I've got... :doah: It'd make a nice driver while I finish the K5, rather than drive IT this winter (without an interior :doah:

Well, they like to salt the highways excessively here too.. its just depressing to see that new black paint on my K5 all covered in salt :( I have to pressure wash it tomorrow again if I have time, although the temperature is supposed to drop again to -30ish celius tonight.. that'll effectively freeze the doors shut before work on thursday :haha::(

no salt here:D
we get rocks just big enough to stick in the tread of all terrains till you hit about 40ish. we go threw alot of windshields. and no i dont complain.

that things friggin sweet. love the backup lights recessed into the tailgate. been thinkin about something like that for mine. the factory backup lights are alll but useless.

Should be a 6.5L unless they went the cheaper road and put a 6.2L in it.

Heck, considering that ought to be a NV4500 that's a hell of a deal!

was the 6.2 only a factory option until '93? Maybe the truck is a '93.5 :dunno: Otherwise I would agree unless the seller doesn't know.. he's taken good care of the truck by the looks of things though

93 is the first year of the 6.5
I know hummers got the 6.2 in 93 but I believe the newer body style GM's got the 6.5 unless there were some that slipped out at the end of 92 with the 6.2 as model year 93 trucks.
Transition years always create confusion.:doah:

If its a half ton it may have an nv3500 in it. Not sure if GM was smart enough to step up to the 4500 behind the diesel in the early years. Especially since the 3500 made it behind 305s that could snap them in half.

92 was the first year of the 6.5L. It was mechanically injected and equipped with a GM-3 turbocharger. That truck is 8 lug, so it will have an NV4500 in it. They switched to DB4 electronic injection in 94.

The 6.2L was found in the 88-91 trucks, same engine as the earlier ones, but had better blocks (metallurgically & thicker cylinder walls, can be bored out to 6.5L safely).

I'm betting either the seller doesn't know what he has or it's a 6.2L swapped in place of a 6.5L.
