This shackle flip on backwards?

they are reversible , but put weight on them and see what they look like

edit they look backwards I'd flip them from side to side

Reversing them shifts the top shackle point forward and backward, which lets you use different length springs. This is common when going from 52" to 56" springs on a Blazer for instance.

But yeah, the shackle should be WAAY more to the left, I would think. Don't see it compressing the way it is now.

They look wrong to me too...

for 52" springs, the offset should be facing forward
for 56" springs, the offset should be facing backward
56" springs will also require longer shackles

:)

Looks like a pic from a tech review somebody did on our flip a long time ago. Never much liked that review since it was installed backwards for a 56" spring which was going to be put in later. In the meantime, the 52's were installed which created the bad angle you see there.

That is exactly what its from. I just ordered a set and dont want this mistake. Thats some horrible shackle angle. I have another question but dont want to start a new thread. Any idea how much lift these front springs yeild?

Adam are there any numbers on the spring ??

I'm gonna guess there 6" but the could be sagged 8"

No I dont think so 4" springs have a small arch to them and once they sag they get close to flat.

Who did you get the springs from?

I bought a twin stick 205 from him awhile back, I dunno I think there at least 6"

I say run them if there to tall pull a leaf if there not tall enough run a Zero Rate.

I have some 4" springs on the front of that truck thats in my garage if you had a chance to look at those

Naw. I didn't look. But I thought factory at ride height was 2" negative arch. So if these sag 3" they're 6" leafs. Seems like it's be okay. More room for tires. Ordered my DIY4X shackle flip and 6" shackles and have a little 2" block if the ass end is a little low. But I'm going to run the 52"s off that truck I got from you. So they have a few more leafs and are definitely less sagged then the ones on the blazer right now. What size tire could I run with minor trimming and a 6" lift? I see DocWatson is running 42"s.... But I'm thinking 36"s and leaving the front D44 open.

I ran 42's with 4" springs and 2" body lift and some fender trimming.

Aubrey is running 6" springs with a zero-rate axle forward 1" and some trimming.

I think 6" lift and 36" you should need minimal trimming

I think if you leave the front end open and don't drive like an idiot you can run 38" for 40" on it with out to much trouble.

But as easy an cheap as 60's are to find up here I bet you'll be rocking 1-tons before long
