So, @83ChevyK5Blazer (Cody) made a deal to trade his old Blazer body to @Csm Davis (Jeff) for a 454 out of a motor home. This had to be the most interesting engine removal I’ve ever seen.

Jeff made it clear that there was no love for the motor home (I call it the Love Shack based on it’s possible history, the names have been changed to protect the innocent) so we didn’t have to worry about scratches or greasy hand prints. This is where it got interesting, I’ll let the pics tell the story.

The Love Shack had been parked for a while....

Jeff has a “heavy duty” wrecker so it was decided to put the boom through the windshield opening to grab the motor. The opening wasn’t quite big enough and there was a lot of body clutter so the core support was removed.

Did they even unbolt the motor mounts, or just pull that thing out of there like a sacrificial heart?

They tried to yank it out but it wasn’t budging. The motor home mount set up was really tight and hard to wrench apart so Cody ended up using a sawzall to cut the mounts.
