Im thinking of going 52's to keep my tires out the firewall....im not gonna run the b-52's...im not gonna be putting a front clip back on the truck so i dont need the body mount any longer...or do I???

my biggest question is how far foward do i need to move the springs foward to have good angle???i might just run two of the l-brackets in place of the body mount...also i dont want to move the rear shackle mount...i have a set of 6 inch shackles i want to use also...thanks guys...

It is going to be different for each specific vehicle as far as shackle angle, I think its just going to be trial and error dude

im getting a cage built that will kinda be similar to a truggy...but still have some of the body....it will taper in the front and there will be a place to mount the radiator...kert i would love to but the b52s but dont have the coin right now for it...

That's cool. Not trying to sell just trying to help with the question at hand.

I don't see any reason you would need the body mount but why not keep the structure of the mount as it is its own support and maybe just remove the top portion.... Or leave it.....

They can definitely put up a fight!

see here is the thing if i keep the rear mount in the stock location when i put the braket in the foward position (in fornt of the body mount)it gives a not so good angle...it needs to be mover back about an inch...im trying to figure alll this out before i start because i dont want my frame to look like swiss cheese...plus i really dont have alot of weight on the truck right now (no motor)....i know all this can be fixed with the b52s but as i previously stated dont really have the coin for that right now...

All of those problems can also be fixed w/ 56" springs too. I moved my frt spring mounts forward far enough to get the axle 3" forward from stock. I left the rear hanger in the stock location w/ 7.25" shackles & I have no problems.

that would require me buying new springs when i have a set of 52s laying there...are you running 52s or 56s???

I am running stock 56's without the overload or the next spring up.

Just because you have a free part to use doesn't make it the right one to use. Lots of people do the 52" swap but you need to move the shackle hanger foward, & until you have the full wieght loaded on the front it will be hard to tell where it needs to be. I just wanted to offer you another solution.

i have been thinking about this alot today and i think im just gonna make a crossmemeber that will give me about a inch of lift and do away with the stock stuff...im gonna mount it at the very end of the frame and move the rear mount foward...
