ok ive been researching old posts and seen that the thorley headers hit the shackle/bolt. i just ordered a set of thorleys and i was wondering if they will hit the stock shackes as i have not changed them yet.

Mine cleared...........uh, that sounds like a nautical response...........:D

Mine cleared too. Only problem I had was with the ceramic coating, the stuff started coming off in 2 months.

definally one of the best headers out there, i have the chrome plated and they are still good, had them over a year. No leaks, got the aluminum collector gaskets. I have even reused the manifold gasket.:D

Same here, but I used new manifold gaskets, otherwise the same. Oh, I wrapped mine almost two years ago............no change since then.......

I recommend Doug's Headers (http://www.dougsheaders.com/) They are Doug Thorleys. Doug Thorley split from the missus and she got to keep the company. He went and opened up his old company under the old name and started making his headers again. So, there are actually two Doug Thorley headers out there. Mine did hit the shackle but I fixed it. See these threads for problem and then solution:

DR, to answer your unanswered question in those threads aboot the sparkplug boots, both MSD & Moroso make something like that. Looks like those in the pic are Moroso parts.

As to plug wires, I used to favor MSD's, but since we tried Magnecore here at work I'm recommending them over the MSD's. We had an electronic noise problem on the dyno that MSD's didn't fix, but the Magnecore's did. Plug wires is all the company makes. I'd guess they know what they're doing. Nice stuff for a reasonable price.

I ended up going with the MSD wires and they worked well for me. I have the MSD HEI distributor too. As for the sparkplug boots, I got a nice set and the friggin' things wouldn't work with 90 degree ends. So, I have a really nice blue set laying about that I will have to put somewhere else.

yep i got mine from summit. they are the crome ones, cant afford ceramic. im gonna get the whole exhaust redone before i put them on.
