Those of you with 2- 2.5\" lifts

do your front springs have a slight positive arch to them, sit flat or have a slight negative arch to them? and i mean this with the springs installed and the weight of the truck on them. just put some rough country 2" e-z rides on and they arctually have a slight neg arch with the weight of the truck on them. there are 4 thin leaves in the spring pack.

Re: Those of you with 2- 2.5\" lifts

I have a 2.5" on my 91 and it has a little positive arc.
The 72 I just got has 2" blocks in the back so I'm assuming it has a 2" lift and the front springs have negative arc.

Re: Those of you with 2- 2.5\" lifts

I have the 2.5" superlift HD springs front and rear and they both have a positive arch to them. They ride very well also, but haven't had a chance to see how they flex.

Re: Those of you with 2- 2.5\" lifts

here is what mine look like. seems kinda wimpy even for a 2" lift. maybe i should get an add-a-leaf or some Hill shackles. the rear definately sits higher

Re: Those of you with 2- 2.5\" lifts

Wow those almost look like stock springs /forums/images/icons/blush.gif /forums/images/icons/blush.gif the Hill shackles would definately raise your front up to match the rear. My 89k5 rides low in the back like a stock one would, so for right now I'm going to order a set of the ORD zero rates in the next couple of weeks to level it out with the front.

If you go with the Hill shackles let me know how they come out on your K5.

Re: Those of you with 2- 2.5\" lifts

yeah thats what i thought. they are brand new but i didn't buy them from rough country. baught them off another member who never got around to installing it. i guess those with a 2.5" just have that little bit of extra arch. they ride much better then stock though!

jason i hate to say it but thats what my stock ones looked like /forums/images/icons/shocked.gif

Re: Those of you with 2- 2.5\" lifts

Yep...that's what my stocker's looked like also. I might have a pic of my 2.5" procomps at the link below.Give you an idea what they should look like /forums/images/icons/tongue.gif

Re: Those of you with 2- 2.5\" lifts

wierd thing is when i had the springs out and on the shop floor they had plenty of arch. the stockers had none. but on the truck they look almost the same.

??????????

Re: Those of you with 2- 2.5\" lifts

I've got a Rancho 2.5-inch lift that I installed in 1987. The springs still have positive arch. /forums/images/icons/cool.gif

Re: Those of you with 2- 2.5\" lifts

Something is not right with your springs. I installed 2.5" lift springs and they stayed positive. I even removed the bottom leaf and they are still a little positive. I put the leaf on the rear stock springs along with a 1" shim and the right is pretty level without lift blocks in the rear.

Re: Those of you with 2- 2.5\" lifts

it's actually a 2" not a 2.5". [censored], maybe its some kind of stock replacement 1-1 1/2" lift i got. the blocks for the rear were the tapered kind and were just a little under 2"at the back, then tapered smaller towards the front. who knows. thats the used parts game. i'm just going to get zero rates or Hill shackles and go with it. its just for my work truck and it does ride much better now. /forums/images/icons/tongue.gif

Re: Those of you with 2- 2.5\" lifts

Did you re-check the torque on the u-bolts after driving it around? Call me crazy, but it looks like they have some negative arch because the u-bolts arent holding the springs down to the axle tight enough, allowing the springs to flex backwards at the spring plates. /forums/images/icons/confused.gif

Re: Those of you with 2- 2.5\" lifts

I think something is wrong. I have TC's too, and for one thing, there should be 3 leaves on an EZ ride, and their bushings aren't yellow, unless they changed them. And the arch thing...I would send them back and try to get some different ones, somethings wrong with those

Re: Those of you with 2- 2.5\" lifts

mine are rough countrys. they are new but i bought them 2nd hand. they guy never installed the lift and everything looks as such. do they sell 1 inch or 1 1/2" lifts?
