I was trying to finish up my mechanical 241 sye but ran into a snag. The tailshaft cone just doesn’t fit with the pump in the stock location.

You can compare the two tailshaft cones and they are different where the speedo pickup is and where the pump seats. Maybe jb conversions sent me the wrong model? It took so long to get them on the phone to order I’m dreading calling them for help.

You can see in their instructions how the pump sits in the case is completely different than mine.

You should be able to run that new process rear housing.. Is this an original NP241 w mechanical speedo? The ones I have done consisted of a bearing (the special one in the new housing) bearing retainer w/seal (the 4 bolt flange that bolts on where the extention housing was)and the new shaft. I reused my intermediate housing with that special bearing.

It appears you should be using kit 16-1205 that retains factory intermediate housing.

Yes 241 with mechanical speedo. I spoke with John before I ordered, he insisted I needed 16-1204 kit. If I would of known I could have saved a bunch of money I would have done that. Lol

You should still save a lot of money just go back and insist they made a mistake insisting.
And return the parts and get your money back.
