i want to order some dc-1's from 4 wheel parts. they are 17x9 rims. can you put tires on it if they are meant for 10" wide rims? how hard would it be? i would go with some welds but they are just to damn expensive. any advice would be great. if not i guess i could just go with 16x10's

yes, you can put tires recommened for a 10" wide rim on a 9" wide rim very easily.

x2 Ive had tires recommended for 10" rims on a 6.75" rim with no problem, 9" should be fine.

that's the exact setup I'm running now.. my 33x12.50's are recommended for a 10" wide rim. I have a 6.75" wide rim.. but all that's about to change cause I got some beadlocks and am getting some wagon wheels :D

But yeah, there are people running 44's on 8" wide wheels.

Just check your tread wear. Going on a narrower rim can cause the tire to ballon or be rounded wear the tread meats road. You may have to play with air pressures to get the largest contact patch. From what Ive seen I wouldnt recomend putting a 12.5 wide tire on anything smaller than a 8" rim. So just stay under 14" wide on the 9" rims and you should be ok.
