those with LINE-X\'ed interiors??

I did a search and found some answers, but still have some questions. How much louder is it than having your carpet and rear side panels installed? Does it get colder in the winter and vice versa? And overall are you happy with it? I am considering this option cause I always seem to get moisture in my truck and the carpet wont let it dry out. Oh, what do I expect to pay? Thanks

Re: those with LINE-X\'ed interiors??

i herculined my entire tub and layed down a viynl floor mat for the cab.

I still hear the roar of the TSL's over everything. the engine is loud, but i don't have a dash. so that might contribute to that /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Re: those with LINE-X\'ed interiors??

I'm thinking of doing the same thing. I heard that if you leave the side panels in, It makes a big difference.

Re: those with LINE-X\'ed interiors??

is the road noise any louder? or did you even have your carpet with your TSL's? i was thinking of lining it, then just laying a rubber mat down over the wholoe floor front and rear too, thought it would be a little better than just bare metal...

Re: those with LINE-X\'ed interiors??

to late for me i already junked them, they were all nasty and had stains all over them, and when i first got the truck, i opened the ash trays up, and they were chucked full of cigerates! /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif lol but ive got futer plans for some custom wood ones to put some new speakers it anyways...that will be a fun progect! but im going to rhino line the whole tub floor and sides first..

The hardware store here sells the stuff by the gallon. I pulled out my rear carper already. Maybe this weekend I'll just go ahead and do it. Need to find a rubber mat for the front now.

oh yea i forgot i need to por-15 mine to!! thats going to be the first thing!

Re: those with LINE-X\'ed interiors??

I have a completely Rhino Linned interior. It is quiter than a bare metal interior, but not nearly as quiet as carpet and side panels. We put the Rhino Lining in to have a summer time muddin, and top off interior that could be hosed and cleaned easily of mud and sand without fear of rust.

This is one mod that I would recommend wheter you want to keep the carpet or not. The carpet and pad hold moisture against the floor and cause rust. Whether or not you use Herculiner, Line-X, Rhino Lining it needs to be done to stop the rust. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Re: those with LINE-X\'ed interiors??

if you let the POR-15 cure a bit, then scuffed it with the pad burillo (sp?) pad, i wouldn't see why not.

Just don't get any on your Hootus /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

POR-15 also sells a topcoat that will ensure paint or lining will stick. I used it and my linex came out well and is wearing very well. I had the whole interior done, then laid carpet in the cab section. Can't tell how loud everything is as there's currently a hole in one of the headers, but I'll bet once the header stuff is handled, it'll be pretty quiet. I don't have rear interior panels but I have lots of stuff in the back to absorb some sound.
