1/2 ton status
Hello ladies and gentlemen. I donno if any of you remember me or my rig but I used to own an 89 V10 blazer that I had some fun with. Well.... I got a wild hair up my hind end and sold it. I thought I didn't want to wheel anymore and could use the money. Yadda yadda. I suppose some of you know how it goes.
SO..... Heres my newest project. Someone paid me 500 bucks to take this truck... Of course they hauled off a POS ford I had sitting next to my house for it as well. But this begins a whole new chapter in my wheeling life. When I had my blazer, as much as I loved it I wished I had a little bit of a longer wheel base. So here it is. This is my new to me 79 K20 long bed. It has a 14ff with a gov bomb and a 10b up front. It has a B%M rachet shifter, 5 points, a fuel cell and some other goodies here and there. And here are some plans that I am comming up for it.
First, I need to build a power plant for it. I am going back and fourth if I want it to run off of propane. We'll see once it's built. I was going to build a mild 350 with as much grunt as I can get out of a set of cast iron vortec heads. Then Im going to cut the roof and back window off and put in a full roll cage and a bikini top. Im thinking about going 52's in the front and of course a DIY flip kit in the rear with a 3 inch shackle. It has a NP205 in it and I was going to eather look into a doubler and or a set of lower gears for the transfer case. The truck will see sand dunes often as well so I have to give and take in a few areas. But, wish me luck and I should have some more updated pictures to show off here in a lil bit.
But... Whaddia think?? Im excited!

it was a stupid mistake. Every time I'd take out my k5 I would mess something up again and I couldn't bring myself to dedicate it to off road abuse and destroy it. The guy who bought it uses it for mall crawling so its at a good home. Right now, it doesn't even have a grill. Haha With this truck I won't have as much of an issue if I re-arrange some sheet metal here and there.
