Thought the M-series guys would enjoy this

Wow...so much BS the BS detector overloaded...

Unfortunately, he ain't that far off on what that truck would fetch. Only thing that appeared mis-advertized is the t-case, which is clearly a 208. Spelling and punctuation could use some work though :D

are you kidding? 12k...

down here you can get that truck without mods for less than 5k on Craigslist all day....

must be something with importing to Canada...

That, and a K30 is tough to find in any condition, forget rust free!

I see K5s on the local trader for 10K+ all the time. Whether or not they actually sell is a different question, but they are listed for about that much

Some of the 'shelter carrier' trucks had 205's,[i forget the model #] .
26 mpg?Maybe downhill 5" off the back bumper of a semi.Perhaps he meant liters per gallon? or per imperial gallon?I'm kind of retarded when it comes to metric or other measurements so maybe hes telling the truth, and I'm just too dumb to understand it but I've yet to see a 1008 pull those kind of mpg numbers in the states.
not sure what he means by 'they only sold them once'?Theyve been selling them for about two decades and still are.

I know a lot of people who would be happy down here to get $4000. for a nice m1008.Florida is NOT known for rust free vehicles either, although they may be ok if you live in the middle of the state.I lived for a while in daytona beach in the late eighties and everything rusted really bad ..from the top down rather than the bottom up like up north.

He's definitely laying the BS on kinda thick...but you gotta remember that finding a M-1XXX in Canada is just about impossible. The only ones available have been imported. For the vast majority of Canada you can't hardly find any square body pick-up at all anymore. Factor in the the import stuff and costs rise quickly even if you got a good deal in the US to start with. You gotta get it home, and then it needs a full inspection and subsequent repairs made in oder to be able to license, insure and drive it here.

A $4K M1008 in the US rapidly becomes a $8K M-1008 by the time it's here and the Crap has been taken care of. Factor in the "straight, low mile, rust free" part and he might get near that for it if he is a little patient.

As for the MPG, I'm certain he is quoting mileage using our imperial gallon rather than the US gallon you guys use. The US gallon is 3.78 litres. The imperial gallon is 4.54 litres.

To the imperial gallon my pick-up get an average 29 milles per gallon. To the US gallon that is 25 miles per gallon. Nothing changed excpet the size of the gallon being used for the numbers.

For me the swap to 3.73's is a major negative, although i understand why he did it. For what he spent on re-gearing I think he could have swapped to a NV4500 and been better off.
