i posted this else where in a thread, but thought i would put it in its on thread

i have my d60f/14bff,....i have become intimidated by by d60f/14bff, i've never worked on a ff or king pins and its a whole different animal from ball joint 1/2 & 3/4 ton stuff, which i know like the back of my hand, but i've never rebuilt a king pin....heck i can't even find a 6 prong socket to try and start pulling it apart, autozone, advance,&o'reileys has told me the 4 prong socket they have in stock, that i already own several,..they swear its the socket i need(some even say 3/4/1 ton on package), i guess i'm going to go track a snappy truck down...or napa havent been there. if i find 1 w/6 prongs will it be right 1 or are there different diameters and different 6 prongs like different lug bolts? are they same...the d60 & 14bff nuts?

can you buy a rebuild kit for a d60 that will have everything you need to rebuild 1 from hub to hub,..or will i have to buy several sub-assemblies to get everything to rebuild the axle...wheres best place to get said parts....i saw stuff on ebay,..can it be trusted?

i don't have any personal experience with the axles you mentioned.

but, i found this on pirate4x4.

this is the 14 bolt bible.

there's a lot of reading there, good luck

as for the socket issue, try napa. or bring you axle in and show the clerk it won't fit. i've brought stuff in before, pointed at part of it and said, "i need this."

It's probably really tough, so I'll be nice and work out a trade for an easy to service 10-bolt.
