I found this in the junk pile of a local wrecking yard. Poor thing never deserved to die this way...

what a shame, i should have boguht the one down in ottawa, i never knew what came from it. No motor or trans/xfer and it was rough.

Many thanks for the eagle eyes & photos! I'll put a composite photo in the Serial Number album at our Chalet owners' & enthusiasts' forum. #1270 is one that was not on my mega-spreadsheet list 'til now.

Might be interesting if the junkyard owner has any more knowledge about it.

I know the owner. I dont know where he found it, but I do know that he has had it for close to 15 years. I actually sold him a blazer to put under it in 98. He absolutely refused to sell the thing for ever. It kinda dissapeared and I never thought to ask where it went. Then here recently I found it sitting out in the trash pile smashed to crap. I think it sat around so long that it rotted beyond repair. Thats my guess anyway.

Me and my Chalet will have to spilt a little beer for that one next time we're out.

Sorry for bringing this to the front and not being overly relevant. If anyone finds one of these tops for free in Craigslist or super cheap, let me know. I'm very interested in putting one of these tops on my 84. Maybe the brotherhood would help me get it shipped out here to the east coast even. There was another thread where a guy was trying to give one away after someone bought the blazer out from under it, something like that is fixable/useable shape would be awesome!
