Friend of mine went a head with Turbo 400 trans and 3/4" ton axles 8 lug , says he has #7004r RE built with a shift kit and Sun Gear Beast Gear Shell, then a Dana 44 Front with Detroit Lockers and Rear 12 bolt Axle with Limited Slip Locker (Both F/R with 4.56) Ring and Pinion.

Whats a good price for all 3 items?

Seems a bit high to me, but it all depends on what going rates are in your area. If the trans is well built by someone reputable and has low miles, maybe. Are the shift kit and the shell the only modifications? 1/2 ton axles usually aren't worth much, but paying for parts and someone to re-gear and install lockers on your axles can easily run 1500-2 grand. Some perspective-mild 700r4 rebuilds from a place like Bowtie Overdrives, Monster, or Mad Dog start at around 1200 bucks, and with that you get a lot of piece of mind. A stock rebuild could be even cheaper. Axle prices vary widely, but someone upgrading could very likely part with their modified 1/2 ton axles for a few hundred bucks. The deal may be the right choice if everything is in good order and perfectly aligns with mods you were planning on doing, but I definitely wouldn't call it a steal.

I think paratrooper is correct in commenting on what the market will bear, plus trans issues. However, for a full size rig that seems like a lot of money wasted on half ton axles. Probably the reason he went 3/4 ton. If all you were doing is making a nice truck for the street, that would be a lot of mods for no reason. For off-roading, IMO that is a pretty extreme setup (although the rear LSD was an odd choice that is fairly worthless in a truck) but put into an axle set that is marginal for strength in general.

yup... a sunshell is only one of a dozen needed upgrades to a 700.. $500 for that.. if your lucky, it was built by someone good and worth more...

the Detroit should have been in the back, vice versa.... other than possibly gears you'd be looking for, the axles ain't nothing special.. especially for a grand...
